I use a t220 Transit connect which does not have the high roof. I wanted a long wheel base high roof but found second-hand ones were high milage only.
I find it`s an excellent van with low running costs. All I have sent is tyres and MOT. I have a 350-litre tank upright fitted against the bulkhead. which leaves some room in the back my poles have two holes cut through into the cab and lined with PVC gutter pipes mounted to a frame in the
top ceiling at the back of the van. All my hoses and water access come out of the side door which can be left open when in use.
I was one of the first to have gas and believe me, it's dangerous as my one burst and sent hot water everywhere thank God there was nobody around.I have found I don`t need hot water to clean water. Ti prevent water freezing in the winter I have two 500 watt aquarium heater in the water tank. Which heat up to 33 degrees.
There are just too many risks in gas hot water. As well as insurance if it all goes wrong. Don`t bother.

I have an old 06 plate 220 connect swb. I have a 350 tank plus 4x 25l barrels (only when I need them). I don't have a heater but I reckon you could get one in. It would be a bit tight though with all the other gear!
Mine has been excellent for 7 years. Selling soon as I'm after a Toyota Hiace (need bigger tank).

I've got the T230 lwb with 500ltr upright tank fitted across the bulkhead. I've got a gas heaters on the left side of the van towards rear left door. Don't use it much, only for really stubborn f/s/g  cleans. Fits in neat and tidy there. Flexible foil pipe on top,so I poke it out the top of the door when in use.
I've got an immersion heater set-up for every day usage though.
