Title: flyer
Post by: nathankaye on May 04, 2017, 05:52:12 pm
Just ordered some small flyers to post in the new areas where ive recently taken over a traditional round and converted to wfp. Now i have cleaned there for 3 months i am going to knock//post some of these to the immediate neighbours perhaps upto 4 or 5 houses either way from where im working.
Out of shot is my website and contact number as well.

Will see if it helps build the round

Keep us updated on how it goes for you.  I have never posted flyers not even on neighbours.  Just had 10k flyers delivered though for first time, so need to start really, be good to see what sort of results you get though.

I have learnt to pass this by my mrs before i actually hit the buy button. A little lazy i know as in my haste of just typing i often read back what i think i have typed rather than what i have actually typed. So i have now learnt to get her to double check rather than myself doing so.  ::)roll

Wording is a but weird

State of the art techniques?
Hire my services

Sounds like your trying too hard

Mind you in don't really think what flyers look like or say really matters that much. If they want a window cleaner you've a good chance of a call.

Next time you have any printing done, post it on here first so it can be proof read. Even the most perfect grammatically make mistakes and it's very hard to spot mistakes in your own work.

+1...I used to do leaflet design and copywriting for a living so I'm more than happy to rip it apart for you!  And tell you how to make it more effective.  ;D

I think the only thing that matters is if it works or not. If you get 0.2% return or above then your doing alright.

So would you send them out then?

I see you are after my opinion.

I think the wording is a bit strange.

The only purpose of this flyer is to post it in a couple of neighbours doors next to where im working. So its not to do a big campaign or anything like that.
But perhaps i should have just stated hi clean your neighbours windows, would you like a free quote to clean yours??

noooooooo, don't say you will give them a ' free ' quote, just say you will give them a quote, they will see you in a better light.

The only bad flyer is the one that sits under the stairs or in the garage and never gets delivered.

You are selling window cleaning not children's tutoring, customers don't care that it has errors

its not to my taste but thats not to say it won't work - knock out 2k and see what comes back

FWIW

over the years I've had several designs - plain saying "need a window cleaner" to very wordy and scripted one - A6 A5 and trifolds
overall the result is roughly the same return ( some seem very successful in an area then bu@@er all the next drop

its a dark art !!

This is my thinking on the matter as well.
Over the many years ive found canvassing to be the best and to make sure you have a good business card, as they often will ask for one.
Never had much joy with flyers etc but im not starting out in this work, just looking at a slight expansion in some new areas where ive been working for a yr or so.
So its not a big campaign, ive now ordered just 250 which will last quite a while as im only posting several at a time.

So a quick update to show how these basic rubbish flyers judged by many are actually doing.
I posted some in a small cu de sac opposite where i was working last week.  Posted last friday (12 may) to 8 houses and just 10 minutes ago i received a phone call from one house who was on holiday when i posted n got back on sat. Ive just been and priced up and got the job.
So first time using these flyers, posted to 8 houses and got 1 result. So not bad as now i have a foot in a new part of my round ready for expansion (due to new customers word of mouth.)

Got this job due to the flyer, which gives me a footing in a new area. But i will be able to expand due to the word of mouth via this new customer.
Hope this makes it a little more clearer incase anybody else somehow gets confused

Your banking on expansion from word of mouth from 1 new clientele? Lmao good luck with that one , who needs flyers and canvassers when you've got word of mouth

This forum is full of hate. Cut the guy some slack and stop making him explain he's actions.
