Title: Adwords Keyword List

I haven't used adwords before and I think I need to do some learning!

I was just wondering if anyone has a list of positive and negative words & phrases that I could use as a starting point and that they wouldn't mind sharing with me?

Your negative list should be for jobs, training, education, machines, products etc. Your keyword list will be better protected if you use geographic keywords - so the town plus carpet cleaning.  My Adwords guy has built up a list of over 1000 neagatives, but I can't see how I can extract it into a document form. I've just noticed the words urine and various synonyms on it  ;D - so quite a few are not relevant to my business!

Oh, and for carpets - you should probably have all the supermarkets and rug doctor types as well - as I've noticed they rent them from morrisons.

Thanks, some good advice. I'm just a little worried, from what I've heard, about being too general and firing money into the void.

There is no single list. You need to keep checking on a daily or at the least weekly basis in the Dimensions tab at what search terms are triggering your ads and add in the ones you dont want to your negatives list.
