Hi all

How much do you pay your employees ??

Do you pay them per hour or a % of your combined income ??

We have always paid a %age of turnover once they have reached a certain level of speed and quality.  If they achieve the target levels they should have OTE of around £20K

I also supply them with vans that they travel to and from home in, mobile phones with a credit limit, clothing, footwear.....and I even been known to buy them a bacon sarnie on the odd occasion!!

I do however expect a lot from them, such as high standards of professionalism, courtesy, honesty, quality and safety to name but a few.

Pay peanuts, get monkeys!

The benefit of %age rates is that if they are not working they are not earning.

So do you employ them or are they sub-contractors? How do you setup their contract of employment and do there payee?

I pay between £6.50 and £10 per hour !  years ago i did pay % but had many problems that i put down to them going to fast without doing a proper job , they now know what is expected of them on a daily basis and everyone is happy , some days are easier than others for them but i think it evens out .

They are all employed, they have a contract of employment drawn up which states what their rate of pay will be.

At the end of each week we simply put the numbers into Quickbooks and it does all the work.

The only time we pay on hourly rate is for our contract cleaning work.

Hi Lionheart, would it be possible to send me a copy of you contract of employment please as I am looking to take more staff rather than sub contract my work.

You are the second person now to tell me about Quickbooks think I will take a look at it.

Thanks

Ronaldo,

I tried that with my son, he laughed at me, told me this was the 21st century and informed me if I didn't hit the minimum wage he would sue me for exploitation.

Cheers son!! ;D

Kids eh?
