Title: Gardiner back pack

Anyone use one for add on jobs, was thinking of purchasing it to mix chemicals and water for bad upvc just wondered if the chemicals will kill the pump

I got one. Latest version better than the previous. Great for bad hose runs/court yards etc.

I think chemicals will kill your guarantee if it doesn't kill the pump. I think Gardiners state that on the website.

Just looked. Gardiners state "due to health and safety reasons no warranty returns will be accepted if the backpack has been used with any chemicals"

Odd since they are really horticultural  sprayers.

i too have the latest version backpack.its great for the odd awkward access job and as an emergency back up system but i wouldnt use it with chemicals.i use a 5l pressure sprayer for chemical application (or a little hand sprayer and spray directly onto my brush).

New pump is £22.50 + VAT

Try it. It'll probably be fine. If it packs up you'll have to buy a new pump. Maybe take that into account when you price.

I bought mine for awkward access but I found it more hassle than dragging a hose. I found it easier to bin the jobs and get new ones. I use mine for chems only (it's full of Screwfix no nonsense degreaser) and I use it just for soffit cleans etc. Also if anything happens it's a good backup.

Do a search using the search tool on here. I cant be bothered to do it for ya, lol.
But im sure Alex commented on a thread saying how they are originally used for agriculture but perhaps not hypo due to salt crystals forming. Or something to that effect, but i could be wrong so best search for the thread

I have put hypo and virosol through mine plenty of times....still going strong.
