Alright lads,
I need to buy a new gutter vac as last one was lost in the stolen van.
Can anyone recommend a good one?
I don't use it weekly more seasonally so it wouldn't need to be top of the range but equally I'm not looking for anything cheap and nasty.
Poles need to be carbon fibre too.
Cheers,
Caleb

I've got the one from grippa it's good its not the smallest one they do,it's more than powerful enough for what we use it for.

Aluminium poles ?! 😱
-
I'm guessing they have carbon as well
Otherwise the machine is about 450 standalone without poles and but direct from Gardners's base sections 10# and or from grippa for the tools or poles as well

Anything above 1200 watts is up to the job, just be careful looking around when it comes to carbon fibre, read the wording carefully. Last week I had someone on the phone who didn't realise that another machine they were looking at was advertised as carbon fibre had 70% fibreglass in the poles. There's quite a few machines on eBay or Google.

I have the small 1250w one from gutter cleaning systems with alloy poles.
Its ok, done a dozen or so jobs with it and it manages, mines only used maybe once a month so it's ok for me. If I was doing any sort of quantity or had plenty of spare cash I'd want a 3000 watt plus jobbie with carbon poles to make it a lot easier.

The difference between carbon and aluminium poles is immense, typical 5ft aluminium pole 850 grams, carbon 5ft 7 (that length allows for tapers) 340 grams!

If it was 100% carbon fibre at 50 mm width it would snap ! You are using a totally untruth to sell your cheap Chinese rubbish ! Don't how the Mods let you post unless you are paying ?

Here we go....
It's a strange old world we live in there's me in our factory in Norwich having just cut carbon cloth, laid it up, rolled it onto the mandrel, shrink taped it and now baking it in our oven and then there's you Tony 200 miles away in Huddersfield telling me I'm buying them from China? Well we don't, 100% carbon poles at 50mm don't snap, we have made and sold enough to know that (out of over 1000 poles made we have only known of 5 fail), if I was buying from China I would have to put my prices up for 100% carbon fibre. The only untruth is coming from you Tony!

He has not mentioned his company or used any of his branded names to advertise, and was just trying to help.
As for the poles. I have them and I think they are great and light weight. Yes i agree lighter the weight the more fragile but as long as you look after them there should be no problem. If your heavy handed then just buy heavy poles.
I don't think they would last long if you used them all day every day like your slx. But for the occasional use...nothing to worry about. You should get years out of them although early days for me still.

The biggest supplier of carbon fibre tubes in the country says you are talking rubbish. They tried 100% carbon and all the customers were complaining of snapped tubes especially at height, so they did a mix and have no complaints. I know who I would trust but buyer beware !

They were clearly doing something wrong, if it's the company I'm thinking of they've never done 100% carbon. Unlike a lot of our competitors we actually clean gutters and test our products before they are put on the market.
-
The reply above was from my son Alex.
I suggest you ask the "biggest" yeah right "supplier of carbon fibre poles" if they actually make them.
We do and we give them hell in testing on a daily basis. If we found a fault, we would alter our lay up immediately. At 35' and above, at very acute angles lifting heavy weeds, they have not let us down.
Give us the track record of this supplier, in fact...name them.
Like we said, we actually make them, do they? or do they come with P60 and rice??

I use Nicks poles with my grippavac....
When I first got the poles I was on here calling them a load of poop but I was wrong...
They are good value for money and I will continue to buy them..

Hi Nick,
Do you have a link to your site mate?
Cheers,
Caleb

Hi Caleb, I can't put a direct link on here due to advertising rules. However if you look at Adam Thompson's post we're the company he bought his aluminium kit from but do the full range (sorry if that sounds cryptic!)
-
This is it as they can't put their own link on here without anyone having a little moan. ; ;D

amazing reading some of the comments on here!
i had a good browse when i was looking for a gutter vac set up and ended up buying the 1200w vac with 30ft carbon poles from gutter cleaning systems, nick and alex was spot on with me and my ongoing questions alex even persuaded me to buy the 1200 over the 3000 vac as i only use it 1-2 times a month and i was concerned the 1200 wouldnt be powerful enough and im quite amazed at the stuff it pulls out the gutters, i even had a monster clump of grass the other week growing into the downpipe and at 3-4 storey height and it got it out ok!
the vacs we know you can get anywhere theyre not unique but the poles are, they make them themselves and are the 50mm bore as opposed to the smaller 38mm (i think) size so less blockages and also theyre full carbon not 70% like skyvac etc that just say carbon untill i emailed them asking it was full carbon!!
very friendly dad and lad too and they have the bonus of theyre little attatchments they include too which are handy.
