Title: Compact pressure washer
Post by: clarkson on April 14, 2017, 12:59:34 pm
Hi
Ŵe have several machines ,  but a couple are just small for rinsing etc.  then we  have a big yanmar diesel but it weighs so much I can't move it easily

I wondered if anyone had come across a compact petrol machine then still can do  15lpm plus for PW.

Cheers
John

Ben at Rutland Pumps put this one together for me based on a suggestion by Chris Scott a couple of years ago.
It had to be compact and weigh no more than 55 kilo's so that I could lift it onto a small trailer, or at a push,  into a hatchback car.
Briggs and Stratton 14hp motor, Evo 3 pump, 250 bar and 20 LPM.
I think it cost about £1100.
It's been a good operator, only real issue is when the ambient temp falls below 5 degrees. It's then a pig to start.

Don't have pic to hand but mine is similar but built on a plate, so no wheels or handle, this is bolted down in the van.
Honda gx390 20 lpm 250 bar ..... very compact.

Also built by Ben at Rutland, he did advise me to get a key start but was penny pinching which I regret when it's very cold on early starts

For small jobs like that peeps have been using bleach for donkey years. No washer required.

Most of the time you don't need a washer at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDLbtMzcWTM

Looks like you need a trailer for your washer/softwash gear etc or get a much larger van bud.

Can run my Honda for 2 1/2 hours full throttle on 5L

Is the machine in pic hot and if so are u thinking of selling it.... Looks heavy  ;D I am looking for something like that to fit next to my one. Would just have it bolted down in van

Hi Matt
No will be keeping it if your on a big car park for a day it's great , eventually I will trailer mount it with a hot box . Only cold at the minute .

Just want a machine for, drives or patios that I can chuck on the van quickly..

Cheers
John

I'm a big strapping lad :D and I would think twice about lifting a machine out of a van even if it was a compact Machine, they are an awkward lump and you end up scraping your thighs & shins lowering it......plus you are risking your back. I would invest in some sort of ramp.

Indeed Mike...Manual Handling risk assessment springs to mind.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but being off sick when you know it could have been avoided don't pay the bills.

This is how machine is in van, bolted down, I have bought a hose reel off Ben last year but haven't got round to fitting it
Prob invest in a hot box next before fitting hose reel now.... Would like to have hose reel fitted similar to wfp reel on roof but weight may be a problem
