Title: how should i reply
Post by: duncan h on April 07, 2017, 07:44:53 pm
I got a load of canvased customers. This one didn't reply to text. I eventually asked if she still wanted the service. She said yes. Told her I was coming tomorrow. Gate was locked. Text her again. Got a bull reply. I eventually got in today. Frames were black. Gave them a good scrub.
Got text back. "well if you've cleaned them I wont be needing your services" Text back saying the other 300 people were happy. She then said I must have been tired by the time I got to hers. Whats my best reply without saying she wanted a cheap 1 off

That's why it's always best to charge a one-off price for what you think is going to be a first clean.
I also find it best practice to visit the property to see what needs doing and speak to the potential face to face. That way you don't get screwed over.

These people have no intension of paying. I wouldn't have the cheek. Most just ignore the texts, the calls and the door knocks.
Ill have to buy a few eggs at Christmas :)

Demanding payment in advance normally sorts those types out.

I would not have cleaned it.

Alarm bells would of been ringing in my head with the messing about with texts and gate...Then the frames were black?

Classic obvious messer that ;D

Lol did you actually clean the right address of the number your texting. Maybe just comfirm the address.
If you are confident of the right address simply send an advert to spec savers via text to her/him.

poor two way communication normally leads to unwanted customer, alarm bells should ring warning signs, especially new customers.

Tell the messer you are happy to put the dirt back on again free of charge if she just wanted a free clean. My first Xmas some customer done me for a free clean so I put the ladder up and wrote happy xmas on every window with  xmas paint, she weren't amused but I was  ;D

Oh yeah; I've just re-read the first post.
I think she's won with that reply. I recommend a tactical withdrawal. You've lost the moment now. as well. and cheated by asking for help.

Best bet is to let of a bit of steam via text onto them and dont hold back (you feel better)
Tell them that you will catch them in at some point for a chat when you see car on driveway.

So he didn't owe you any money and you replied with that?

I trust/ hope he then showed you the error of your ways with a slap.
