Title: First one in ten years!
Post by: Dave Willis on April 04, 2017, 11:23:48 pm
Cleaned the front of a large house this morning Merc on the drive. Woman in dressing gown sticks her head out of the front door, "what's the weather forecast today?" Rain Probably, I replied, always rains when I come round  :D

"Well the last time you cleaned them it rained, so in future I don't want them cleaned if rain is forecast I'm not wasting my money again!"

anyway a few weeks later her husband phoned me and apologised profusely for her wifes "outburst" and said she d been under a lot of "stress" lately and asked me to put them back on my books.good as gold since! ;) :)

You should of said... " too right love" from now on when it rains I'm not wasting my money on council tax, or rent/mortgage either...sound like a good idea to save money to me.

There's always a couple in your rounds, I know the two or three now

How many though start as they mean to go on, I tell every one I work rain or shine even in the cold?  I all ways add if there's a problem directly after rain it will be put right free of charge in over 20 years never been called back

Don't sack her. Just turn up, don't clean and charge her for your weather forecast.

+1  i always educate my customers, new or old. Once they know how it works, they accept it. They may be sceptical but they give it a go. Ive lost one customer, or should i say, i fired them as a client. Went to do windows and it was a slight trickle of rain and got told not to do them. I reminded them how i invested in this equipment as it allows for working in rain as i previously explained to them. They didnt want to know and so i politely asked them to find another window cleaner who would be prepared to loose a days income because it rains.

Haha, im sure we all have different tails to tell. This comment reminds me of a customer who refused to pay because he felt i hadnt cleaned the windows because the frames were dirty. This is when i was trad cleaning. I explained i cleaned windows, to clean frames it costs more but i would be happy to do so. He reluctantly paid me. The next time windows were due i just cleaned the frames and not the windows. I had no problem with them paying. Time after i left a note explaining what i did time before and it was time they hired another cleaner. Lol

I would purposely dumped them as they are a pain in the ass and it will save you wasting anymore of your time on them. I ditched one last month as it was her third strike and even left her a politely note to inform her thanks but bye bye  :)
