Looking to get my eldest his first van. We are looking at a low budget van for 12 months, an old connect. Have any of you got young drivers insured for work? Gladiator said they wouldn't touch anybody that young.
I know the price is going to be hellish, that's why we don't want finance on a newer van, cost of two together would be sickening

Hope goes well
A friend mines paid £3.5 k for an old v reg Astra whilst under 20
Not bothering with my daughter until she's done a year, it true it's cheaper to buy a nice than van

The company I worked for several years ago had multiple drivers around the age of 18-20, they used nfu mutual to insure all drivers. Worth a try.
-
Are any leasing companies offering low cost vehicles with any age driver insurance included ?
-
Thanks, got a quote of nfu for a pickup, which wasn't too bad at 1.5 k.
Only thing that bothers me about leasing is if he prangs it.
If it cost 50:quid a week for insurance then that's what it costs. By the time you get finance for a decent van your looking at 500 a month before you clean a window.
Plenty of opertunity out there for young workers >:(

did you ask them about black box prices as well
-
No.was worried about being stuck with black box

It's good for the youngsters with plenty of energy.
My mate who's around 50 leases a Dispatch type thing and that's only about £130 per month - but of course his insurance is probably peanuts.
I'm just about to renew my Ranger insurance which is currently £160 a year.
I feel very sorry for the youngsters because the insurance costs are completely disproportional to that which their insuring.
The only upside is that one years NCD is going to drop that figure massively.
