Wet the whole area with water, then apply a spray coat of  Miracle Epoxy Grout Film Remover, let it dwell for 15 minutes, then the gum will fly off.

In that case buy 5 litres upvc  solvent, don't prewet flood the area, the gum will fly off  ;D

Or you could maybe try and hire a decent a hot pressure washer for the day and have a play.

UPVC Solvent even if you are allowed to use it evaporates very quickly and you will need a lot.  Miracle is viscous and will go a long way

I have an old Osprey dc3000 which is basically a wall paper stripper which injects a chemical. I also have a hot box for the pressure washer - why don't people invest in the correct kit ? Anyway a wall paper stripper or a steamer will soften the gum then a caustic degreaser will break down the oil leaving the chaulk residue. Citrus gel will also work but slow  :'(

to be honest I wouldn't even consider using a chem, as stated steam clean using the proper kit, simple

Couldn't agree more but, the fact is some people simply don't have the money when they first start out

That is why I suggested to hire a decent hot washer to have a play with.
