Lads im trying to set up a diy system for a 25 gallon drum for pumping water/detergent from. I want to set pump just outside the water outlet at bottom of drum. Any ideas for a suitable compact pump that perhaps has a variable output setting?
Thanks

use a 12v diaphram pump 5 lpm from ebay you can force garden hose over the screw threads and then jubali clip down or use the 6 m inside diameter hose on the out lets ,

If your building your own trolley I would recommend an 100 psi sureflow if your budget is not tight .because depending how much work a day you do depends on the life span of the pump .I work six days a week and found the cheap Chinese pumps of eBay lasted two to three months before problem s started

I would just use a shurflo pump as u would use for wfp work. Shurflo is ok for using chems as well

Thanks lads il order a shurflo pump so
Should i get one with controller or is it necessary for softwashing

Pure freedom have a good deal where you get a pump and controller on a mounting plate for £130.50 plus vat which was one off the cheapest I found

Always found Vyair to be remarkable. I have one of thier pumps its been fantastic. Really no problems at all. My brodex e compact system had a flojet pump, it lasted 3 years. Had this pump for 5 years now and its still perfect.

Pump with controller is double price of just pump....but i suppose controller is 100% necessary with softwashing?

If you are looking to be able to vary flow, you have a couple choices 1. Use a pole tap. 2. Use a controller
A tap will give you some variation of flow but the pump is now working flat out the whole time drawing 7 amps plus a n hour from the battery. Plus as the pump is trying to push 5 LPM into the hose that is then restricted by a tap you will have high pressure in the line as the pump is working against its self.
Using a control will also give you a variation of flow. The pump is now only producing the flow you need in turn you will be using 3 amps an hour from the battery have better flow as there is less resistance in the line. There are a number of controls on the market that would give you the flow variation and make teh system more efficient
