Title: Malicious code on the forum
Post by: Graeme@Access on June 03, 2006, 07:23:44 am
Hi,

Every time i look at the Carpet cleaning forum (starting this morning) my Antivirus goes nuts (Kaspersky AV) and states there is a nasty on the forum page. ::)

It directs me to here >> http://www.viruslist.com/en/search?VN=Exploit.HTML.Mht

I have tested it with Mozilla and Firefox and both throw back the warning.

Is anyone else getting this or is it just me?

Cheers

Graeme

I bought my computer only 5 months ago and it came with Norton. I was getting all sorts of alerts, Trojans etc etc. and was told Norton is useless. Then I went out and bought McAfee security and ive had no problems since. Think it cost me about £27 if I remember right.

Norton is a horror imho. I recently uninstalled Systemworks. (The PC could take 10-15 minutes to close down!). I use NOD32 Antivirus= Brilliant. Dont even know its there. I am using a trial version of Agnitum Oupost Firewall which i think is ok, but its fairly complicated. Now PC takes a minute max to close down.

GET RID OF NORTON... You can download special removal tools from their site as it infests the deepest reaches of your PC.

I recently removed norton from mine to replace it with mcafee after norton had been playing my pc up for a while, slowing it down and generally being useless, after uninstalling it and loading mcafee the pc wouldnt run at all, ending up in me spending 4 hours manually removnig files left after the uninstall, not a pleasant task, Andy

Hey Glynn, respect!  ;D not many of us mac people out there.  I switched Jan 2005 from windows.   I got so fed up with the virus / spyware problem and the system slow downs and crashing.  I just wanted an easy life.

I have to say this is the best computer (20" iMac G5) I ever had and wish i had bought one sooner. I want one of the new intel macbooks as soon as I can afford one.
