Just over 1000 hrs on the clock and nearly three years old with full recent service from Ionics.
Hardly used really, and cost about £15k when new!
And apart from people who don't like Ionics - what do you believe it is worth?
Cheers
Darran
-
Why would you spend 15k and hardly use it?
1000hrs you say , so at 40 hrs a week it's only been used for 25 weeks?
....so 2 months a year for 3 years...
-
I'm sure someone will give you around 3 or 4k for it.
-
Fiver 😆
-
I think maximum, a third of the value wen new, and not including vat.
-
Unfortunately it's only worth what someone will be prepared to pay , which is totally different to what it's worth or what you want for it . Been there and had the same experience
-
All the same if it's three years old and hardly been used I'm thinking someone is going to have a very expensive bill replacing all the filters ro etc as there is a good chance they will be knackered by now.
Is that the real reason why you want to get shot of it Darren?
-
This reminds me of my brodex e compact system, what a headache that was. Overall i paid around £5k for the whole system new, it got well used, but i sold it for 300 quid i think in the end. Its just a plastic tank, a load of pressure vessels and a pump at the end of the day.
-
If it's currently working as it should be at the moment in your van then this is obviously the biggest selling point.
If you can find someone who is looking for the same set up brand new from Ionics then I am sure you can both come to a figure that suits.
Have you asked what Ionics would give you for the system?

exactly.i remember talking to a windy who had a brodex set up years ago.yes it looked good but mine cost me a fraction of the price.did the same job.as long as your tanks fitted securely everything else doesnt matter(apart from decent carbon poles)

Yep decent poles is where the money must be spent. My current setup us a 500litre tank, pump and a di with a merlin. Does the job just as well. Cost me about £500 all together. All this eye candy ionics melarky is a con, brodex was the same. None of these machines actually do anything better than a home made setup. And in fact cause more problems

Thats a bit harsh adam.
-
Some real nice guys on here!!!
Hopefully you get a fair whack back, try putting it on Ebay.
Im guessing all other services you offer have taken off nicely hence not needing to do so much on the window side?.
-
Adam jealously springs to mind if he wants to spend fifteen grand on a set up then that's up to him
-
Adam
no need to be like that.
docent matter what he spent .
he now wants to sell and i hope he gets a good price .
-
Your being very mean Adam 👹

Sorry mate it was jk999 lol

now for a real reply ,
were in the same boat as you , when we kit our carpet cleaning vans out from new we get a bill of just over 50k this is all new and the way we want it and after three years there worth 18k-24k if were lucky depending on the miles the van as on ect ect and that's if we can find a buyer , normally we just pull the truckmount out and put in a brand new van and make it go again for three more years to make it pay for itself again
your not going to get a massive amount for it unless you can arrange a payment plan with a third party this would make it easyer to sell and would make it easyer for them to buy over a few years
like with us and our c.c. vans your wash system is great but only better on a very few jobs as 99% of the time you can get the same results with a home made system as you can with your all singing all dancing unit it just takes longer
ive been watching them over the years and the prices are all over the place on ebay from 900-3500k and I see the same ones getting relished time and time again so I gess its luck of the draw

I'm thinking maybe Darren has been offered that system as a px against one of his new softwash systems. If so then the first thing I would check is there any remaining finance on it. Would then want to inspect and test it properly to make sure all the components are working as they should including the ppb filters, hot water side etc. If not then find out cost to get it all up together to sell on. Then consider to make a px offer so could sell it on at a decent profit and still be quids in on selling a new softwash system.
Still it all sounds a lot of hassle to me as what will all the implications of a reseller selling used kit.

Thats got to be the most pathetic post i've ever read on here, what a stupid thing to say ::)roll
I guess it depends on how much your prepared to loose on it really to see if its worth selling, you never know you might need it sometime in the future. It really is only worth what someone is willing to pay i guess, or see what Ionics sell refurbished models for (if they do) and base it from that.

got to agree if all was working on it I would be happy to give 2k for it leaving a bit back for fillers and to get the heater reworked if needed this alone could run into many 100s of pounds , sometime trade ins can be more hassle then there worth as when you trader sells the unit on it got to be right as theres no thing as sold as seen anymore when your a trader

I can't see the point in all this bickering. About time you all grow up and respect peoples views no matter how daft they may seem at the time.

well he started it :P

If I was looking to buy a large, hot system from a reputable manufacturer then X-line offer a 750 litre, 2 man system for about 7K plus VAT. That includes fitting and I am guessing a warranty etc. They look very good bits of kit.
Bearing in mind I could buy that brand new and fitted, I might be swayed to look at your system for around 4-4.5K.
That's just my opinion.

What do you get for 15 grand?
Is the 15 grand over 5 years?

Makes you wonder don't it.

15 grand for some would get them a van, kitted out with a system and carbon poles, electric reels and a pressure washer n fsc from bens as well. Oh and an heating element installed or a gas heater for hot on demand........but i guess that might be just my thinking on it
-
You might be lucky to get £500 for tank and £500 for heater unit, never recover the cost or come close to half decent resale value
-
I think the main problem you've got here is that you have a very limited market due to the size of the system, the large majority of window cleaners don't have or need a van that will carry 1000 litres. IMO you would be better phoning some big commercial window cleaning companies and see if you have any luck with them.

Wishful thinking springs to mind
Oh look it's on fleebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Transit-Van-With-IONIC-1000-L-Zero-Hot-Water-Fed-Pole-System-From-Ashford-/292029483184?hash=item43fe5048b0:g:blkAAOSw32lYpLPx

I know who this person is who is selling it - it wont be a waste he would have made his money from it and then some. :)

Purple Rhino?
-
Purple Rhino?
yep
-
It's a few years old van with an over rated, over engineered and vastly over priced piece of kit in the back that does exactly the same as many others that are a fraction of the price. Unless you need an over sized van then you could buy it all brand new for less money!
-
Don't be Hasti.
-
I think the question was what it worth. You may get 5k if the write person is looking. To spend 15k , get 10 years out of it doing 100k per year makes sense to high end window cleaners.
-
I bet it's a nice bit of kit!
