Post by: spindle on June 02, 2006, 12:28:53 pm
i have been asked by a private members club in london to give a quote for cleaning all carpets in the building...........could be as much as 500-600 meters sq

most of the rooms will be clear of furniture........but i will have to move some...

how much do u guys charge for commerical cleaning.........

there is the chance  of repeat work with them...every 2/3 months..............so do i lower the price or offer a discount on the first clean???

any advice will help

Charging per sq meter is a good formula on small jobs but you try charging a grand on this job and you wont stand a chance of getting it! At the end of the day its a days work so charge a good days work price, no gimmicks and hopefully they will give you a regular clean.

hi there

sorry  i disagree, you need to charge per sq metre still, but at a slightly reduced rate.

i am wondering where the  place is, but would easily quote about £850 on HWE and i know that the low moistiure guys are charging more per sq metre on commercial.

its irrelevant how long its going to take to do the job, the job is "X" and the charge level is "Y"

work smart not hard, you'd rather do one job over say a maximum of two days, rather than chase around 4 or 5 small customers to achieve the same revenue. and if you finish earlier its MORE PROFIT as you can then go onto the next job early and that customer will feel even better.

on the other hand you know what you need to earn each month each week, so you may take the commercial decision to only work two days a week and then relax the other three days.

its entirely doen wo your personal circumstances, and nothing else.

but my pricing level still remains as i said at the top

thanks martin......................

i decided that i would charge 1.50 psm..(10% discount on first clean 5% 2nd clean)....as there is 700sm (13 rooms+ corridors)......... only for the fact the carpets are not that dirty....they are only 3 months old ...it will take mininum effort.......no spotting........yes it will be hwe but
the club is closed on weekends.............so i suggested that i can do it then......

i think that it is a better idea  to have 2 "easier" days as opposed to one loooonnnnnnnngggggggg  day.............

2 days work for just over a thousand minus expense's cant be bad !!!

i gave him the quote yesterday.............so i'll let you know how i get on!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)
