Hi Dave, bought the heatrod immersion.
The thread looks really short, designed for a thin metal tank not a thicker plastic one.
Looking at it I don't think it would protrude enough to fit a washer and flange nut.
I may be wrong! How is yours fitted and do you use an extension lead with it?
Thanks.

You need a mechanical flange not just the nut.

Thanks Dave. Got one of those. Ordered with the immersion.
Don't know if there will be enough thread coming through the tank in order to be able to use it.
The heatrod immersion thread is not very long.
Don't want to drill the tank and not be able to fit it.

The heat rod immersion screws into the flange so won't be a problem. The flange is just long enough for a wydale tank without the washers so you will need some 'plumbers mate' to smear on the outside contact to ensure it's watertight. Once you get the mechanical flange in your hands all will become clear.

Oh dear! Egg on face!
Got it now, many thanks mate.
Let's put it down to old age (66).
Drilling tomorrow.
Thanks for your help.

;D just do as Dave Willis says!

I will! Had my flange the wrong way round! Oh dear! I get worse.
Thank goodness for CIU.
