Title: New marketing concept
Post by: Kev Loomes on June 01, 2006, 09:01:56 pm
Hi chaps

Has anyone ever used the company 'Relaystaion' to market new/existing customers? According to them the system is 3 times more effective than direct mail. I am not so sure about this, so would be interested in knowing if it has worked for any cc's and if it really has been worthwhile - or if it's a waste of time?

I am thinking of doing it but dont want to waste money if it doesnt really work :P

Cheers

Is this something to do with advertising via text message.

If so can it be localised, can you target every mobile phone in a specific post code!

I personally wouldn't respond to unsolicited text messages, but strangely like the idea of advertising this way, but I bet its expensive.

It's not text messaging. I gather that the concept is that you record your own voice message (or get someone who's good at it) offering your services/offers for new/existing custy's, then you pay for the names/addresses where you want to target. Then they somehow automatically send these recordings to answerphones where the message is left. Im sure its also available for mobiles too, but would imagine it is less effective?

They do the whole lot as a service, so just wondered what it was like.

Joe Polish has been recommending something similar for years. I think it only connected if it detected an answerphone but not 100% sure.

I do not  know if it is now in the UK Fastrack programme.

About a year ago Robert Saunders used it to promote an  ALLTEC event.

I had a similar one from BT. This week.

Talking Postcards are the latest idea

Do they check TPS before dialing.

Also Direct Marketing Assosation have introduced a code of conduct Re Automatic Dialers and silient calls
