Post by: p1w1 on February 03, 2017, 06:45:32 pm
Those of you that use the hd version..
Can you fit 100m of 6mm microbore on these reels
Also when pulling the hose out does it come of as easy as using a normal reel or is there any resistance.

any input greatly received thanks

Yes you can but you ideally need to feed it on.

There is NO resistance at all, if anything it NEEDS resistance lol

cool thanks bud, i dont mind feeding it on as i like to clean the hose through a cloth as it going onto the reel. Do you reckon a 110ah battery on a split charge would run the reel and pump /controller successfully for a full day ( i know it depends on usage but in general  you reckon it would be up to the job)
thanks again

We have exactly the same setup van and easily copes.

The motor is low torque high speed.

To reel in 100 meters of hose through FOUR rollers takes 58 seconds. Without rollers less than 30 seconds about 25ish.

I bet you would use less than 5 amps in a day!

As far as i know he will supply that but you will need to check. He told me he supplies them with an 8mm barb and you heat hose on and push it on. I use 6mm and was perfect.

Word of warning, you cannot use double eared o clips you can only use the single ear ones Gardiner sell due to the reel design inside.  You can just use a jubilee clip but they always leak with me for some strange reason lol.

^ That's in reference to the fitting inside the drum.

If he doesn't supply fixings which i would be surprised with its just a screw thread and 6mm barb same with the water swivel which i must also say is good and doesnt leak :)

Check first though, if he doesn't supply the fixings tell him he still has my trust o clip pliers lol !!!

I think he meant 115. Doesn't matter, just get as large as you can.
I use 115 along with 2 80 van batteries.
I fitted one for a mate with 80 amp and 1 80 amp van. Works faster than mine for some reason lol

The handle is to screw into the side (you need to undo the bolt and then re tighten when the handle is in) as a backup if it ever does.

The t-shape piece is a lock off so that if you have rollers and have the hose outside van when your driving and don't want it to unwravel, then you screw that just to the right of the reel next to where the handle is and it locks the reel.

It comes standard with 2. The 3rd is a leisure battery.
I managed for ages with just the van batteries, as its got a split charger as standard. I wanted more juice for the reel. Only stick a charger on about every 6 months , just to keep then topped up

just ordered mine from wcw as you get 5% off for orders over  certain amount and a free pair of sealskinz. i did ring to confirm if it came with all the fittings and was told yes but i wont hold my breath on that.
Anyone order theirs from wcw and did it come with the fittings for the hose?
