I don't think it matters what ppm you use until you start getting complaints.

There is a guy on fleebay doing 11 ltr reconditioned ones which would be an ideal size for what you need it for. This is the chap I get mine from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/11ltr-EMPTY-DI-VESSEL-Empty-Window-Cleaning-8inx19in-with-head-ready-for-use-/152388709590?hash=item237b132cd6:g:u6MAAOSw2s1UtCBs

A 40x40 HF5 with 2 pre filters will produce water from 280 down to 003 for a month before pre filters need changing,I have resin in van which lasts ages before it needs changing.

Same problem I have Daz. My old house ppm was 029 and resin would last forever. New place is 069 and i burn through the resin now. Probably going to start using RO soon as I'm not on a meter.

I find that the 069ppm water getting down below 020 is fine, any higher than that and you may get the odd bit of spotting.

8weekly are you joking or can you actually do it without polishing with Resin? i have never tried but sounds interesting as my water comes out the RO at 6ppm.

Cheers

"Polishing" just means taking down to zero doesn't it? What's the point if cleaning at 10 does a good job?

Ditto, ive just recently changed my 3 150gpd membranes, and my tds is either 010 or under (been a couple of wks since checked) cant remember actual figure now. But i wont be using resin for a while yet.

In some of the weather you go out window cleaning in, i really would not worry about your tds being 10!
Rain water on the glass in Manchester is probably higher.

Personally  I won't use water with a reading above 000 I charge my customers a premium price for a quality job by using the best quality water I can produce + I feel water with  a zero reading cleans a lot quicker , dries faster and looks far superior when finished . I would liken it to normal petrol the car will run ok , but put a higher octane fuel in it it will drive much better and perform a lot better , just my thoughts .

yes but what if your van engine blows up and your off the road for a couple of weeks?and the only way to keep your work up to date  is purifying 100L water at lunchtime because you ve ran out(using 4 barrels and a backpack working from a car) ;D

Hi Mick

In the last 14 years,  I've  been  cleaning windows with tds readings of between  2 and 10 ppm. I've never used any resin and even with examining the cleaned windows in bright sunlight from the inside, there has never been any evidence of spotting, whatsoever.

No! No! No!

You've got to have ZERO parts per BILLION and pay at least £10K for your system. Everybody* knows that!

*"Everybody" who is gullible that is.

Crack on Daz - you'll be fine at 010TDS

With the conditions you clean in Daz, I wouldn't even use water.
