Alex on my shurflo pump outlet and inlet my garden hosepipe is fitted on and secured by a screw jubilee clips. sometimes leak as you can only tighten them up so far before the screw overtightens.
What would you suggest i use. are there any screw type fitting to connect your 1/2 inh hose to your Shurflo pump, to make the connections more secure.
There always seems to be something new added to our van mount setups to be more leak free

Alex doesn't sell Shurflo pumps or Shurflo hose fittings Johnny.
If you want them Williamson pumps has them.

We have used these for years without any issues.
We don't use jubilee clips as they don't seem to tension the hose all the way around the barb.
We like these from Gardiners;

They come in various sizes. You will need a tool to squeeze the ear together. They aren't reusable like a jubilee clamps is. If you want them off you have to cut them off.

We don't like hozelock fittings near the pumps. They are drama.
These connectors have hose tails and the hose pushes on to it. They can't be used in conjunction with Hozelock connectors thank goodness.
If you look inside the inlet or outlet of a Shurflo pump you will see that they have an inner female cone shaped face. The Shurflo connectors have a male conical face which provides a really good seal, both under vacuum and pressure.
Because of this seat the angle connectors can be adjusted to your pipe position, no matter which direction the hose comes from or goes to.
If you have a really close look at the pump inlet and outlet connectors you will see a thin flat surface from the seat to where the thread starts. If you use Hozelock connectors, that flat surface is all your connector has to seal on. Hozelock connectors (or any other make) aren't designed to be precision bits of equipment. They are designed to join your garden hose to the outside tap. If it leaks a bit its not the end of the world.
But a leak in our van is a problem. If its one the vacuum side the pump will suck air and if its on the delivery side it will create water issues inside the van.
The only Hozelock connectors we use are on the van ports and the joining hose from the van ports to the hose reels.
Sizes of these o clips will depend on the outside diamt of the hose you are using. The Shurflo connectors I linked to earlier are for 1/2" hose, so the O clips on Gardiner's website will either be the ones I linked to or the next size up. It all depends on the wall thickness of your hose. (When you push the hose onto the tail the hose will increase in daimt a little.)
We carry a few in a spares tin of different sizes.

DaveG,
HOW DO YOU GET THE MALE HOZELOCK fitted in the opposite end. They have one with pushfit end , code 52052, would this be better

On the picture in the link, the left hand side would go on the pump and the right hand side, you can screw a male hoselock connector onto it (after taking off the nut!)

when you take the screw off is there a thread left to screw a pushfit fitting on to the hose
or do you cut the hose under the srew
