iam upgrading my pressure washer in the end march i currently have a 6.5hp 10ltre hour 3000psi its noisy vibrates like hell and the string snaps every 5 jobs or so thing is its compact and it a practise machine which has worked for me so i need to upgrade i need to know do you guys use your wfp tank for the buffer tank and feed from the bottom like a trolley plumbed in or do you take the top off the tank and drop the feed hose into the tank and switch pw on and clean that way with hard water and then go home and fill the tank with pure water for window cleaning for the next day cleaning the hard water out first
or do you have a seperate tank like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Premium-Water-Butt-Kit-Rainwater-Barrel-Choice-100-250-Litre-Round-Square-/371609204001?var=&hash=item5685a27521:m:mHKASLaXBS6GiCglg8-Ebvg
kept in your van filled up with customer tap because there bins are full or there not in and there tap is in the front garden and iam only to do the front driveway and then clean with pw i may buy a 21ltr pw and it can be only fed from a tank

It is much less stress on the pump if u run if from the bottom of the tank, I run mine over the top of the tank
I use the 650L tank that I use for wfp work, at end of job I will drain if tds is high, on the next fill with pure water I will run the water through system and back into tank for a hour or so

i have a 250lt tank in van so its only for front steps and small front patios so it would work for me iam used to garden tap feed only

my tds is 160

When you buy a new washer that requires a buffer tank I would suggest just to get yourself a 210 ltr water butt to start with and mod it. Add a chepo ball cock to shut the water off when full with a male hozelock to connect to a garden tap. Regards to a bottom outlet I've never bothered myself and my washers all work fine. A water butt will come in handy for most domestic jobs as you can set it up your new washer and butt wherever you want and still have pure in your van tank if/when required.
If you are planing to use a 2l lpm washer static in a van without keeping the buffer tank topped up no matter what size tank you use it will not take long to empty it.
Regards to low pressure hoses to connect to an outside tap to feed a buffer tank. I've found 100ft xhose's are ideal as they weigh next to nothing and take up very little space when not in use.
