Hi folks,
I want to attach my hose reel to the van floor to stop it flying around the van when driving. I don't have a plywood layer, just painted steel. I need to be able to remove the reel easily too.
Any ideas? Will I have to drill holes through my floor. My vans a Peugeot Expert 2010 and the reel normally sits at the back near the off side door. Will I have to drill holes through the floor?

Cut a sheet of wood to the exact footprint from the back doors ( inside of the door pillars ) up to but not including wheel arches. If cut tightly enough the door pillars and wheel arches will prevent any movement in any direction. You could then screw pipe clips to it to secure your reel but still allow it to be removed easily from the clips.

I've made a wooden framework using angled brackets that I've attached to the van load ties - one piece of wood each side of the load tie which I've joined via carriage bolts. Across this framework I've attached two pieces of wood where the hose reel is mounted via U-shaped brackets. Underneath the hose reel I have a tray to catch any drips (to be honest I get very little in the way of drips). The pictures will probably explain this better. No need to drill through van floor ....

Also the raised height of the hose reel means you don't have to bend down so far when reeling in.
