Title: Public Liability Insurance
Post by: Cinders on May 31, 2006, 10:41:09 am
Hi

Was hoping for your advice....I just got a quote for public liability insurance from Darwin Clayton for £486.  It has a £500 excess and covers £10m.

Does this seem a bit steep or about average??

Thanks in advance

 :)

it depends on how many employees it covers or whats the maximum turnover  :)

my is going to be twice as much, but it covers any number of employees up to turnover 80000.

what about yours?  I still havent bought mine so looking for other options ;D

cheers

I have just taken out insurance with Fortis, it covers for £10 million has an excess of £350. It covers myself and one other employee, but can be adapted to cover up to 6. Cost £196.

The first quote i had off darwin clayton was for 10m

I have just got one from mcregor lloyd for £71.40 with £100 excess and covers 1m.
This seems like a really good quote but I just hope there are no pitfalls!

Will ring around a few more places!

Thanks  :)

I remember seeing a post about insurance where one person had 'cheap' insurance, then when it came to making a claim it turned out that he/she wasn't insured at all. (something along those lines)

It worries me a bit ???
