Looking to expand my carpet cleaning business
Having problems of thinking of a pay structure, that pays employee a good basic wage, but also motivates them to do 3-4 jobs a day
I would be supplying the van and all equipment

I don't know any thing about you or your company, but if you are a one man band I would forget about employing anybody and just put you prices up and spend your time looking for better priced jobs,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,employing staff is a pain in the backside I used to have 17 of them :o

I am a one man band , employ nobody,
I do however on occasions pay for help on larger jobs, usually £80 to £100 per day.

Sub it to someone self employed and take a percentage on every job........

I'd suggest a bonus scheme, where they get a basic fair wage but if they reach your target each week or month then they get a nice little extra in their pay packet
-
Suggest you look on the HMRC website....there is information there that would help

Would suggest going rate is between 17 - 20,000 per year. Most add a bonus scheme where they get a percentage of any upsells.
-
Min wage and bonus them with attendance bonus, appearance bonus i.e. Uniform, bonus on quality of work, bonus on turnover.

you need to take care and protect yourself. you dont want to train up a new start in your area. a good contact is a start, then female over male, and always keep back part of the job by that i mean dont tell them how you run stuff. worked great for my domestic cleaners never had one take a customer from me.
Give Tina a call and give her your email and I will send you the contact i used. tell her I told you to call she can be very defensive -) great gate keeper.
teach them how to upsell as well. I used to have a contact cleaning a salon and the owner would not only teach them all the treatments but each week she would have a meeting when she teach up-selling. she also would not use young people as she said how can they relate to her customers that had money and life experiences where so different.
Good luck
