I went to Spain for Xmas and New year all inclusive for £330! I've re-charged my batteries and avoided the circus that Xmas here brings especially clogged up roads and towns!
I'm back at work today!

I'm in Spain at the moment as well, fly back tomorrow.

We are on the Costa Del Tropical and it rarely goes below 8 degrees at night and up to 20 in the day. It's 18 right now.

Tbh I'm not here on holiday, my misues is Spanish and her mum is very ill and has been in hospital for the past 4 months. I've been coming every month to help out and do some sea swimming.

I might as well have the month off. I'm not doing anything exciting though.
My missus is working for the next few days and my little lad is still off school. I might get a couple of half days in this week and do a bit next week but after that I'm doing a course to do with my son. It's only a couple of days a week over two weeks but throw in some bad weather and January will be pretty much a write off.

I deliberately shoved my work on on CP so I wouldn't have much work this week. Trouble is I'm still flat out with extra's.
Just realised I only had one whole week off in all of last year!!!! (Christmas).

I don't take holidays because I'm a workaholic.

When I reached 50 (5 years ago this year) I was one year into building my new run in Ireland.

I'm now flat out, so not much chance of a holiday even if I wanted one (which I don't).

John.

ok so you might not like a holiday in my sense of the word(4 and 5 star hotels  in far flung places)but everyone needs a break.surely you take SOME time off apart from xmas every year?

I had a few odd days when it hammered down last year but that was it. Don't often work Sundays but normally do a half day on Saturdays. I don't have a desire for five star far flung holidays to be honest.

Been there, done that bored with it now. Hot women in bikinis tend to be my daughters age. I prefer a bit of culture after all the sex. Tourists generally embarrass me particularly the English.

I was self taught, mainly by studying all the pictures you use to put up. That's probably why I suck :'(

Finally achieved it this year ... not a month but 3 weeks - stopped 24th dec --- flew to Sydney 28th and had new year there then travelled east coast as far as Fraser island and as south as mirimbula near Canberra.

will be doing a month at end of this year.

Well im not pleased to say it but yes ive had virtually the whole of january off!!

I finished work the final wk leading to xmas and was due to return 2 wks later in jan. Then we had high winds whichbi tried working in only to be attacked by flying recycling boxes and so gave up. After that i caught a virus and have been off work since.
There goes my savings on paying bills instead.
So returning to work with full vigor on the 30th

I barely had any time off when I first started in 2004 (I think) apart from weekends. Didn't take a full weeks holiday apart from Xmas for nearly 4 years, as I was worried about getting behind with the round.

I now work on a 3 week month, having from the 22nd of each month off if I choose to. I can fill my time with add ons if I'm not planning on doing anything or going anywhere.

All future rounds and franchisees will be in the same position as me from day one, making for a very relaxed working lifestyle.

3 week months are the way forward 👍

Hi Griff,  I was rooting through this thread and I only just twigged your comment above. I was going to join in but I realised I was being a sap and barking up the wrong tree if I thought I could match your level of joaks.
