Ime thinking of replacing my omnivac 3600 110v with a sky vac industrial one . Any one got one and what do you think of it ? It's expensive but I don't mind paying a bit extra for a quality product , which is the best to go for 240 volt mains or 110 v with genny, I get fed up humping the genny around with by currant one although you are self sufficient with power . I do a lot of larger commercial properties , hotels, care homes ,etc so need something decent , any suggestions ???

Are you in Wilts by any chance? Why not keep the 110v you have and simply buy a transformer like the builders use then plug in to the customers electric?
Actually, forget that, the amps would be too high you'd blow the transformer!

You can get a transformer that will do it as I've been speaking to sky vac about it they do a transformer for there machine and that's 3300 watt

I'm taking delivery of one of their machines on Tuesday, the industrial 85. I'll let you know Wednesday ;)

I replaced my omnipole 4200w machine with one early this year. It was the best thing I've done. The straight through pipe into the machine means it doesn't get blocked where the omnipole one does. And it's got much better grab than the omnipole. Camera and monitor are superior. It's the best choice in my opinion.

Thanks slack that's the one Ime looking at will be very intrested to hear what you think of it and how it performes , have you gone for 240 or 110 ? And why did you decide to get what ever ?
I think there are better machines out there now than the omnivac mine is 3600 110 v it doesn't suffer from blockages as it has the side entry port but I think/hope the skyvac has a lot more suction power ?? I have a few big jobs that are regular and we get a small skip full out of 300 meters of guttering so need something decent ,
Cleartech you seem very happy with yours much better than the omnivac ? Think that this is the kind of thing Ime looking for , thanks for your advice

Yes much better than the omnipole one reflections. It's streets ahead. I've done about twenty gutter jobs since buying it and have had to get up ladders once and that was for a slipped tile in the gutter. I have video Of it taking full plants out. Might take a while to get the suction but once you do it takes everything out.

I bought the SkyVac Industrial 85 a couple of weeks ago. Its excellent, pulls weeds, plants, pine needles out no problem at all and NO blockages. Paid for itself after two jobs so worth the investment.

Dunno, son is an electrician and says you'll blow the transformer. He's gone out for the evening now but reckoned the ampage is way too high I think even those kango hammer drills are less than a guttervac.
Be interested to know what they use.

Sky vac told me they have the transformers specially made for there vacs that's probably why they are £295 + vat !!!!

just spotted a 5kva transformer, maybe that's what they use (about £160).

If you think a genny is heavy try humping a 5kva transformer about... Sod that ;D

25 Kg dead weight doesn’t sound much but still is a pig to hump about on yer own on site. Plus having to fart about with 32 amp 110 volt extension cables which are not particularly light either. I know I've used one on many a guttervac job and was glad to get shot. To be honest it was a real pain in the arse not just the weight but added time on set up and packing away aswell.
Forgot to mention it's not recommended to run a 4200 w 110 v guttervac with a 5kva setepdown transfomer from a 13 amp plug with all motors running either. Oops! ;D
Myself I prefer to keep it simple so only use 3000w 240v vacs now from custards power.

Reading this topic with interest, still got my old Clarke gutter vac but it needs updating :P
