Title: @ Smurf ( Auto Shut Off Solenoid )
Post by: Fieldsy on December 11, 2016, 10:28:27 pm
Hi m8,

I did a search on the forum for an auto shut off on my mains feed. Currently I have a float valve ( removed from a submersible pump) which cuts off my booster pump when the water is at the top and a standard ballcock which shuts of the pure water to the tank................but obviously my waste is still running !!.

I read one of your posts regarding the kit which can be made similar to the pure freedom kit.

Are these the pieces I need

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-DC-250MA-Magnetic-Electric-Solenoid-Valve-for-Water-Air-with-Filter-/141637032195?hash=item20fa399903:g:H~EAAOSwoydWiLl2

I have plenty of mains cable and a quick connector ( so thats covered ).

What would I need from here

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/sis.html?_nkw=Mount+Horizontal+Water+Level+Sensor+Liquid+Float+Switch+For+Tank+Swimming+pool&_itemId=221725652788&_trksid=p2047675.m4099

and would the mains converter you mention be 240v  to 12v ?, not quite sure what you meant by the mains converter for 240v

any input appreciated m8,

Its a 4040 by the way

cheers Fields ;)

TWAT !!!, just realised you mean something like this and cut the adapter off and fix the connector ?

I brought a 12v version of this as I was going to set it up in my van but I changed my mind anyway it is new and in the box cost around £300 if you are interested you can have it half price as it is just gather dust  http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/pump-hose/pump-controllers/system-controllers/liquid-logic-trade-s2-static-ro-system-booster-pump-control.html

Thanks Mark, I'm a bit of a DIY man and will give it a go, love a bit of fiddling, but thanks for your offer m8, particularly like your vids on youtube, thats where I saw the power reel in action and your 2 x 4040 set up.  ( I assume that is you ? ....lol  )

I opted for this, which I'm gonna run in sequence with the submersible float

http://www.solenoid-valve.world/by-material/plastic-nylon-pvc-ptfe-delrin-pp/5115BC-RPE-solenoid-valve?gclid=CLaElpuq8tACFde6GwodOF4FkA

I have a 24v booster pump which cuts out once the float reaches the top, cutting the supply will trigger the solenoid and stop the mains. THATS THE THEORY !!!...........lol
