I used to use Microsoft excel as a simple customer database that can also be used for printing to envelopes or uploading to Docmail to send postcards.
If anyone is interested, I may be able to upload a blank one to this thread sometime.
Plenty of tutorials about Excel or Microsoft access databases on youtube

I've written a simple spreadsheet that tracks date & source of enquiry, whether converted or not, value, type of jobs and date completed along with customer details.
Also then produces a monthly graph showing number of enquiries per source, conversion %, total income for each source per month and average job value per source. As the year progresses it keeps an annual running total of each of those. Thinking about breaking the numbers down by carpet, upholstery, hard floor etc.
Just copy and paste the graphs into the monthly business review / planning document so it is easily kept track of.
I keep it on google docs where it is hopefully nice and safe.

If you've backed the customer data base up , can you not just restore it ?

I'm not so sure u can Steve I hope there is a way tho.

The backup should be in a file in the cleanersmate folder, if you find the tab for cleanersmate on your start menu, there should be a restore database function, so you can put all the customers details in back into the software.......

Did you try the way to restore your data that I suggested - even if you haven't backed up, but still have access to your old hard drive?
