Title: Transit advice
Post by: from edge2edge on December 07, 2016, 07:28:42 pm
Going to sell my 56  plate  swb silver transit(its on a private plate which i will keep) which i had as a lease vehicle then bought it so kept up the service history(full but cant find it all).It has 170k on the clock and 2 sizeable dents on the nearside(not too bad but more than the guys who rub out scratches/bumps etc).Is it better to get them sorted before selling or will it be a waste of money as i wont get back the cost?.I had a truckmount in it about 4 years ago which has left some rust by the inner side door too.I am not practical so DIY options wouldnt look good so any advice appreciated guys/gals.....................Alan(Swindon)

IMO the cost and time to put it right you may as well get knocked down on price, at that age and milage no one expects a minter

To help you with price. I recently sold a 12 year old transit for £1950. Could probably got a bit more but only had a month left on the MOT.

That was a 2004 tranny with 83k miles on the clock. Spent about £300 getting it all polished and fixed up. Before I got it tarted up I was having difficulty selling it. It drove well but looked rough.
