Just seen a round for sale online in the Manchester area. Monthly value £1000 made up of just under 200 properties. So that's basically £5 on average per property. Asking price - £10,000! You mad bro? Been established 40 years. Sounds like the prices haven't gone up in 40 years! All trad aswell.
Ahh, maybe it's just me but i cant see how you can charge 10x monthly amount for a round when average price is £5, and nearly all houses too.
All i will say is good luck to the guy i hope he sells it and gets what hes looking for.
-
I bet that's still 2 weekly too. Bless him ;D
-
TBH I hope rounds like these don't sell , then the custys have no choice but to go elsewhere and chances are to someone else who's charging a few bob more
-
Still you can't blame the chap for trying though

The 35 a day guys will be fighting over it, that and buying a couple of year old CLX18's for £200 a pop on Ebay and they will think Christmas has come early. lol.
-
What would happen if it sold then all on the round did not like the look of the new chap as it's the punters decied who they want to do the work not the other way around surely?
-
Luckily for him , there's someone who wants a round in Manchester on the work for sale page on ciu

Do you not believe them? I do, but I reckon it would only happen with cheap work - £5-8 a house. If that's what I charged I'd do that many but the quality would suffer. At that price though, who's going to complain?

I wouldn't say that I don't believe them other than maybe a down play on property size, most of my replies on the subject have been similar to what you have just posted so totally agree.

At the end of the day all your buying is good faith.

I did some £5 houses on Monday . A new build estate well it's about 6. Years old now . All town houses and not one has access to the back unless you go through the garage . So it's all fronts . 1 small top window . 2 small middle floor windows . 1 small ground floor window and 1 pvc door with no glass . Got 18 of em all on the same street . Pull the hose out and start at the furthest and work back to the van . The lad works from the trolley as it's filling on the nearest to the van . Took us 50 minutes . He finishes the last one and sides away while I ticket em and collect . Love em .

I have always stayed clear of the cheap cleans, but am coming round to the idea of banging £5, 6 and 7 houses out

Believe me these £5.00 custys are more than willing to complain just as much as a £25.00 house would. Took on a run few months back and there's £34.00 houses that send the kids to say "she got no money on her" doesn't have online banking and no cheque book!
-
Haha
seen plenty like this locally, there not worth anything, i would pay 1x max , double the prices probably lose 75% of them and hope i got a decent amount left
200 houses for 1000 lol
Had a trad guy offer me similar recently, 800 quid of work 180 custies

correct, slap dash 7 quidders, 40 a day.. what a life eh
Its not only the problem of cleaning that many, its the admin, chasing payments.
Less customers at higher prices equals less hassle, less to chase for payments etc
40 a day smokers, 800 custies a month to keep happy and chase around for your brass, no thanks

What do you mean by a down play on property size Sean? I said that the houses I mentioned were modern detached, so Persimmons, Taylor Wimpey etc, as far as I know these houses are built to the same specification throughout the country.

90% of the properties I clean are modern detached, even though some are next to each other it still takes a van move and hose
reel out and in for each of them, a number of factors will determine how quickly I get to washing the glass but at a guess
you would be talking to an average total of around 10mins each of non on the glass time.
So obviously the detached properties your talking about aren't the ones I'm thinking of.
-
Can't you reel out once and do 2 or 3 at a time , then leave your pole in the next garden .move the van near the next properties . I can go a few full mornings without reeling back in . But obviously the reel is fastened in the van .

Not really, the detached properties I clean tend to be on decent sized plots with private drives, fences, hedges and so on, its better to pull onto their drives, clean, pack up and move next door, dragging the hose behind wouldn't be an option.
Have a few semi's on open plan plots where I can get 2 or 3 at a time so understand what your saying.
-
Right . That's the only way i do them as well . Thought you meant the open plan type gardens .
-
So what were saying is,,,,,each person adapts to his or her rounds and maximizes the best/quickest and convienient way of cleaning them..........interesting
;D

Ah, that's the one, open plan type gardens. This is the type of work I was referring to when I was shot down by people who think they know my round better than I do.
-
Yeh I'm with you on this one . I can park up do the upstairs fronts on 6 or 7 of these type houses , drop the pole do all the bottoms . Probably 15 minutes .
-
Now we are upto 24 - 28 (fronts only) an hour now. Can anyone beat that? ;D

And there lies the problem, you have chosen to ridicule the amount of houses I clean based purely on what you experience with your own round. Like many others on here for some reason you seem to think you know a round better than the person who actually works it. If you really want to ( I know you do ;D ) why don't you google Priorwood Drive Dunfermline and tell me how much down time you think you would have if you had a full day in this street, and how many houses you could clean.

Sorry mate its no longer the fact you clean 45 of those properties per day ( yeah right )but that you charge £7 to £8 for the
privilege, I will never complain about the pricing in my area again.

Probably about 15 but Iv never been that quick am 8 weekly plus i also clean the doors, so would say most would hit around the 20 mark as an average.

What's with the ( yeah right ) ? I know for a fact that's what I cleaned on that day. As for pricing, each to their own but I'm sure most would be quite happy with what I earned for just over 6 hours work.
-
Yeah right...Whatevvvvvvvvvver innit ;D ;D
-
All on same estate
I'd do 25 a day
I'd want more than £7 or £8 though
Obviously I don't live in Scotland
-
Love those sort of houses, single pane windows no top hangers.
