Title: Business Name Change
Post by: LWC on November 23, 2016, 09:41:49 pm
Ive traded with the same name "Ladderless Window Cleaner" now for around 10 years and am pretty well known locally, however over the past few years we are doing more and more gutters, pressure jobs, fasicas etc etc. Im thinking the name has restricted me to just windows so am considering changing my name to cover the wider aspects of what we do. Something along lines with "Cleaning Services"

My question is, has anyone changed their name? And have you had any problems? I really cant see any major issues, just asking.  :)
Obviously, logos, van sign writing, websites are a bit of a pain to get all re done!

yup just done it ... I was H2o Proclean from 2010 but now got at least 4 others in the area trading similar ... biggest p taker was H2o Procleaning  >:( ..... kept getting his newly canvassed customers ringing up to cancel as my website was top ranking.

now changed to xxxxx exterior cleaning services as more describes what we offer ... changing everything over takes a while

For 13 yrs went by the long winded and very original name of
"Nathans window cleaning services"
My rounds and reputation was solid in the areas where i worked, but same as you, found it very limiting ( amongst other things)  and so changed to
"NKServices" followed by banner saying, exterior cleaning....

It was relatively easy for me as i then sorted out my official work uniform and had name/logo stitched on. For my regular customers had my window cleaned cards printed, on reverse explaining name change. Then did my web pages etc.
(In addition to letting tax man kno, but that was also pain free)

Want to get away from the "Ladderless" as with Ian, theres a firm here with it "Ladderless Window Cleaning" on the van and someone else called themselves Ladder Free Window Cleaning...could easily get mistaken for us.

Will be using as Damo says using my surname.  :) Something for the xmas holidays going into the New Year

I changed names the other way a few years ago...

I wanted to concentrate more on window cleaning, getting the regular repeat work in.

I changed from "Southern Cleaning Services" to "Iconic Window Cleaning"...

It wasn't too much hassle - and it worked... The more specific name starting bringing in more regular window cleaning work.
