If its cheap it probably won't be a booster pump that will do the job for you. A centrifugal pump isn't a booster pump.
The Gardiner one is perfect for the job as it boosts up to an ideal pressure which can be used with either HF4 or HF5 membranes.
The only other one that was available to do the job was the Clarke CBM 240E. That boosts pressure to 112psi which a little above the comfortable working range of an HF5 membrane.

what boosting pressure should it be
-
how long to work that out !!!!!
-
yyyyyeeeee daft question really.

Hi Trippy
You can get what you need off the shelf from Machine Mart, Lawrence Hill, Bristol.

I will check the spec tomorrow and let you know Trippy. I know it's a Clarke and June from Gaps Water Treatment recommended Machine Mart initially when I was looking for a new pump.

looks like thats only about 68 psi ideally you want one around 80psi. Look out for an Italian built pump as they are solidly made pumps and last years. Previous job was in injection moulding and all our machines were Italian made because of the reliable hydraulic pumps needed as the machines would run 24/7.

page 10. maximum pressure = 8 bar which is 112psi.

I was calculating it by the advertised max head, is that wrong then out of interest.

Sorry p1w1. I owe you and apology :-[
I was looking at the standard 240 spec rather than the 240E
You are right as the electronics switch the water off at 68psi. That's on the low side for an HF4 membrane (but will work) but fine for an HF5 membrane.
The Gardiner one is better as its rated for a higher psi.
Now I'm going to crawl back under my rock and lick my wounds. :(
I thank you for pointing that out and will adjust those specs in my head. This 240E was always the one GAPS water recommended due to its high water pressure.

Well as youve helped me a number of times I will let you off on this occasion but dont let it happen again ;D

It's a Clarke CBM240 I'm using it with a Spectrum SRO-4040 2500-LE and this produces all the water we need currently an average of 08ppm after RO and the membrane is 18 months old had around 02ppm from it when it was a little newer our tap water is around the 250-300ppm so probably similar to yours Trippy.

Have never seen one as it would draw too much current for the battery to supply.

Thanks everyone for your help and input
