Looks like Kersten pedestrian WeedBrush (http://www.kersten-machines.com/moss-weed-removal.htm) . Can be hired for about £300 for the weekend. Great sweeper but does it clean the paving??
Similar product discussed here (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=151807.0).

Good luck dealing with Kersten, we had a Vela vacuum complete nightmare from memory cost around £4K , when it worked it was great but it spent more time at their workshop then working, over engineered German *****, agreed to buy it back off us after it spent 8 wks in their workshop awaiting replacement bearing for the 3rd time!
Kersten also sell snow sweepers, so if you have a 'standard' sweeper with an issue at winter time forget it as they prioritise the seasonal sweepers.
The Vela removed moss via the gulley brush but it wont remove algae.

Hi,
After a quick google...this one looks like the one he's using:

Just add a blower and some hypo to finish!
Kind Regards,
Huw

I think this system will be a viable option for larger public areas as the disruption caused by the cleaning process will be minimal. This system doesn’t seem to be removing the 15mm of contaminated kiln dried sand in situ so there may be some shallow rooted weeds still present after cleaning. I think if a comparison were made on the finished cleaned driveway between this alternative process and the traditional method the results will be conclusive. Having fresh kiln dried sand introduced after a pressure wash clean is aesthetically pleasing for the customer and the contractor and the application of a sealant can make the driveway appear like new.

All these machines are built for a specific problem they have in Germany with cobble blocks. It would be a lot quicker for small areas to either scrape the bulk or spray it with Algoclear or similar and go back to it. Or hire in a professional sweeper with a vacuum for the odd job. Those sweepers need an adjustable outrigger wheel if you are operating them all day

You could always use a rotary scrubber and a wet vac to clean block paving ;D ;D ;D ;D
