Title: Facebook pages and marketing

Those that use Facebook for your business.

Do you find it works well for you and do you actually do marketing campaigns with it or just simply have a page?

I am thinking about adding this but have no experience.

Hi Lee, if used correctly a facebook business page is a fantastic marketing tool for window cleaning.  You can boost posts and target particular geographical areas with offers or promotions.
Boosting a post with a video in, is by far the most effective method for attracting new customers via facebook.
We use  the 'quik' app for making our videos straight from our iphones.

With all your money you make 60k a month why not just buy full working rounds from people selling them. Quiker and smarter way to get going. Thats all i do now is buy rounds or work as all fully working and compact.

Good question.

There are a few reasons why I don't buy work.

It is expensive. most people that sell want 2,3,4 times the clean values. Our marketing currently gets customers in a lot cheaper than that.

Purchased customers have not chosen to use you, they might not want to after the purchase.

We now only accept direct debit as a payment option for new customers joining. Swapping over purchased customers will take a long time and you will probably loose a few.

The prices or frequencies may not match ours.

The list goes on. I am not saying buying work is no good I just don't think it is good for us. I prefer to do marketing and get customers in cheaper and have things set our way from the start.

P.S we are not quite at 60k a month yet. Nearly.......

I have a page purely to just have a presence on their.
I don,t have a Facebook personal account so my business page gets very little traffic on it.

The type of work I want commercial isn't, going to come from Facebook.
But in terms of residential window cleaning  I have heard it can be good you can target areas and run promotions some lads I have spoke to built there round mainly from Facebook.

But a lot say you can get a high rate of messers or people wanting cheap work done quick.

I think a business  like the size of yours should have a presence across most social media platforms.

It might be me doing things wrong, but ive ran promotional work for wknds and other times for full weeks and even though it has been seen by hundreds and sometimes thousands (pending geographical area i set), i havent had the enquiries i was hoping for. Admittedly, ive mostly been promoting add ons ie conny roof cleans or pressure washing rather than just windows.
I agree with above advice on videos. These gain the biggest interactions and shares.

Lots of enquiries from Facebook but few conversions at decent prices. Seem to be mainly price shoppers.

Anyone who buys work needs their head testing. Thats another subject, but as regards Facebook Lee, unless you put some sort of notice...bookings only taken through the office ring. xxxxxxxx  You'll get get, yeah can you do mine its a semi/detatched/terrace..... i'm off thursday morning, Friday afternoon, and Monday all day..................you'll be expected to respond, message me babe xxx   . Also, you'll get feedback....... i know we've been here before with this subject and you. I'm not saying anything derogatory..........but its a consideration. Thats not a pop at you, i'm just saying i wouldn;t want my negativcve feedback amplified through Facebook. And if you think it will amplify you, it will. Positively and negatively. Consider putting a page up that is just a "presence". no comments nor interation allowed, that my advice.

When you are cleaning that volume of windows you will get occasional complaints for various reasons. It's inevitable.

People that sign you up through Facebook are far more likely to use Facebook to vent any frustration they've felt with you or your company. They won't always even be courteous enough to let you fix it before posting it on Facebook. We've seen people doing just that on here recently. Once it's out there on Facebook you've no control and it can spread quickly.

I know that people can post stuff about you whether you're on Facebook or not but for the minimal gains described by others on this thread it seems like more hassle than its worth to me.

It can be. Either them FB messaging you, commenting on your post, texting or calling saying they saw my add on Facebook.  I went through my round and picked out all who had come through FB and it adds up to 1k.

Oh and I haven't spent a penny on FB advertising yet.
