Sorry to hear that Dave. Hope your insurance sorts it out quickly for you.

Total nightmare. :'(
Who are you insured with.?
-
adrian flux I don't have a good feeling about this took ages to get through only to be told they will get in touch soon as they can
-
What about all your gear inside? Is it salvageable?
-
yeh nowt bust she shunted van 3ft I was half full
-
If fully comp your insurance will fix the van and claim the money back from the person at fault, this may take a bit of time
and you could lose your no claims until its sorted in court, but any money lost as a result can be claimed back.
Its a nightmare I got the back of my van wrecked by a guy who then denied the accident happened, luckily unknown to him I had photographed the damage caused to his own car, this left him with nowhere to go.
Took a few years before it was sorted and to be honest I had to threaten my own insurance company (Axa) with legal action to get them to finally sort it.
Hope it goes well for you mate, but any nonsense get to a solicitor asap.
-
balls rolling just waiting to here from a company to supply another equipped van funny thing is I was only looking last week at a new van scary . I may get a new system got a pure freedom at the moment very easy to maintain any others that are as good out there
-
its going pear shape already they haven't passed info that I need a fully equipped wfp system so having to wait for a call
-
Did you get that call and if so what did they say?
-
Im not sure if Adrian Flux will supply a wfp van?
I was with them a few years ago when someone bumped into the back of my van and damaged a rear door.
Everything was dealt with swiftly and to my satisfaction.
The courtesy van that was supplied was without a wfp system as I expected it to be, and I plodded on for about a week with backpack and water barrels until I got my van back.
-
still no calls looks like I may have to get some barrels and back pack ready
-
All insurers pay in to pot to cover people with no insurance my friend had a claim cost him nothing
-
not the best company to sort claims out , you should see all the bad comments they get on the vw camper fourms
-
I was also wondering if your van was parked legally at the time of the incident?
My wifes car was written off recently and the insurance rep said it was my fault as I pulled out of the junction. Regardless that a drunk driver was speeding around the bend and on the wrong side of the road. lol

You lost an insurance claim involving a drunk driver?
I didn't think that was possible.
-
The car was fully comp so they had no choice but to sort it out regardless who they were trying to blame.
Still it was a lot of hassle dealing with these clowns.

We had an offduty copper decide to overtake one of our landies while it was turning right.
It went to court without our knowledge and apparently it was found 70 - 30 in our favour. We will be appealing that.

So Dave now another day has gone by have they contacted you again to try and sort it out?
-
Sorry to hear about your van being written off. Not sure if it's any use but there are a couple of companies that hire out fully fitted wfp vans, not sure how good they are or what the cost is but if it keeps you working whilst waiting then it might be worth considering.
-
thanks got through to insurance but they said that they could not get in touch till Monday to a company who dose equipped vans, we will see

Out of interest, does anyone know which companies hire out fully equipped vans for short periods? I've searched online but can't find anything.

Never had any dealings with them but here's the link to one and I'm sure when I searched in the past there are more

surely you must have some van traders near you?its amazing what discounts you can get if your paying cash
-
tried excuse is they sell there vans competitively so they sell more
-
Auction?
You'd be surprised what you can pick up cheap if you have cash.
Try to avoid the general public auction and go for the dealer / part ex auctions usually held during the day rather than the evening.
-
Hi Dave have you heard if the insurance company will pay out or is the van drive able ?Can you still work if not will the insurance cover loss of earning?
-
the driver had no ins but the car was ins by the drivers family member but as the driver had no licence e.t.c the insurance wont pay out so I have to apply to m I b which is like a safety net for this sort of thing but it dosent mean I will get anything I have to send photos to my ins for them to start the ball rolling
-
Dave if your fully comp then your insurance MUST repair or scrap and pay out on the value of your vehicle, this should
already have happened by now.
Sorting out compensation from the guilty party comes next.
-
unfortunately for me I had a blond moment I only got tpft big mistake
-
Dave , surely if you have insurance be it TPFT and the accident was not your fault then the insurance has to pay out. Also are the police investigating if the other driver has not got insurance then its 6 points for her and £200 fine .Plus the owner of the other car could also be in trouble for letting an un insured driver use their car. i had a accident a few years ago where the driver did not insurance buy my insurance company stilled repaired the car.. With no loss of no claims .
-
god nows got to send pics to my insurance then they will forward them on to m I b to se what happens next its just one big ball ache I can do with out .
-
Wait for your loss of earnings claim, another con.
