Title: painting the stains
Post by: john martin on November 03, 2016, 08:20:55 pm
Iv been painting the stains a good bit lately ,
The ones that wont shift , bleach or dye  .... paint is usually a better look than the stain a few paces back  , if its rubbed in with a cloth it wont go crusty , ya gotta get very near the same colour  though  ...

Heat set fabric pens are much better. Just colour in and if its not right just wipe off with damp cloth. Once you get a good match set the colour with a hairdryer.

Like these but loads of shades available:

Those heat pen things look like they are worth a shot for sure ,
I got some dye from america , I had some success but  even your an expert its a slow process , most of the time I woundnt be able to charge for it or have the time to do it , and it only works on wool and possibly nylon .
The pics I posted, can't see them on my phone now ... But the bottom green carpet was a boutique hotel ,40 rooms , they get a young clientele who bring cocktails etc to the rooms.  About 5 stains per room , not cost effective to bleach dye each stain ...but the paint was very quick and good enough to get a result .

Tim , i was using paint testers from homebase   :)  theres lots of colours

There is the pens John suggested .
Dye , there are kits u can get online , i got dye from cobb carpet , or if u search ebay for ( wool feather acid dye ) you should get it there , but dyeing is a skill , i have only messed around with it , you would probably have to do a course , although i have a feeling the only one who makes money from it is the guy teaching it .
