Anybody use them? Bit strong at £165 but replaced or repaired when worn or broke for a small admin fee for life?
Hope they don't kill me breaking them in!

I've been looking at them as I'm sick of boots not lasting very long in fact some boots are just a waste of money so paying the extra will work out better in the long run.
-
Docs, my boot of choice ;)
I'm wearing them now - they've had it. Soles worn through, splitting at the stitching, scuffed ripped and gouged. 3 years old mind !
How exactly does this work ? I can't really see anything worth saving in my pair.
-
Derrrr ! should have read properly -"replaced or repaired " ::)roll

I started wearing DM's back in the 70's...How time fly's ::)roll

In winter use the 'old' British army gortex boot:

I say 'old' because they're all using a new kind of boot now, but the 'old' ones are perfect for window cleaning.
They're waterproof, rugged, keep your feet warm 'n' dry, and once broken in, are really comfortable, and they last for a good few years.
In summer I just use a pair of training shoes.

There's no steel toecaps, and they're probably heavier than a pair of Dr Martens, but they're not so heavy that I think "Flip me, these boots are heavy".
They are slippy on green stuff, like on decking, (but most everything is slippy on green stuff).
They're my favourite boot; I've been wearing them for years.

I thought you recommended Magnums before. I sent mine back after a week because they leaked.

They will if you get water in the hole at the top.

The hole your foot goes in? ???
They definitely leaked - they inspected them and refunded.
Army boots look good though. For Goretex that's ridiculously cheap.

I had my army ones easily 5 winters (3 T in the parks ,2 Glastos and many trecks up bennachie). Cracking boots.

I bought a pair of them about 3 winters ago expecting snow and ice....which never happened.
I've only worn them once and found them awkward to walk in as I only usually wear ankle high boots.

Thankfully National Service was binned before you were eligible.
"Sarge, but Sarge, I can't walk in these boots; they're just too high Ser-geant! I only wear ankle high boots!"

I would of only been any good for peeling spuds so probably for the best anyway!

I remember him recommending Magnums, too.
They made my feet cold.
And then the chocolate melted all over my socks.
