Title: Hit & run update
Post by: HQCS (John Kastrian) on May 26, 2006, 10:56:46 pm
Some of you may remmeber that my van was written off in a hit and run last April (o5).
I have now had the final settlement from the MIB for uninsured losses as the other driver was uninsured.
After taking out the £300 excess charge,a grand total of £359 quid, why did I bother?
Had to claim on my own policy for the loss of the van,so my premium went up sky high as they cancelled my no claims bonus, and even though I caught the scumbag and handed him over to Mr Plod,he  only got fined 50 quid for failing to stop!!!
Because he is a so called traveller he got away practically scot free, there is no justice in this country.
It makes you wonder why we bother paying for insurance etc just to stay within the law when these wastes of skin can get away with anything. >:(
Regards,
John

you are right this country is going to ruin regarding the judicial system. Surely the main thing that stops people like this is the deterrent but why would they stop and think about the consequences if there isn't any!? its people who abide by the law who pay for dross like this with the insurance companies increasing the premiums for everyone knowing full well that people who are not insured and have an accident will not be footing the bill. all my life i have been a labour supporter but of late have become disillusioned . they have had almost 10 years to make their mark but all i can see around me is chaos . people talking about criminals rights when the victims are often forgotten. i must confess to not voting in the local elections as who was i going to vote for!? but thats another debate

A guy up the road from me Stole nearly £20,000 from boots the chemist were he worked, he has just been given four months in prison, so he'll be out in 8 weeks, no money to be paid back, and because his wife suffers bad nerves, the probation service has just paid for a two weeks holiday for her and the kids.

I think were all in the wrong trade, and they say crime doesn't pay

While we are on the subject of crime, one of my regular customers, a woman, travels to Bristol every few nights to fit electronic tags to offenders. She tells me that the company who has the contract gets around £14000 per offender to monitor him or her. I couldn't believe it when she told me this.

Apparantly if they do not have a telephone, one is put in for them as this is a requirement of the tagging system to make it work. And i thought it was cheaper to monitor them rather than lock em up.

Seeing as we have an energy crisis looming in the future, how about the government manufacturing big hamster type wheels where a hundred offenders could be made to walk around inside to generate the countrys electricity.

i know someone works for them to (just near the old bridge) company begins with r  i believe they also have to buy them a table to put the phone on. also i was told often there kit is lost after coming out of prison so as you can imagen they then produce a very long list of items then did have. which is all then bought for them new!
