Please could you tell me where you bought your 2KW immersion from and what length is it?

Takes about two weeks for them to make one and deliver about £57 I think. I bought two so I always have a spare. Bit pricey I suppose but cheaper than a gas boiler.
I haven't got my tank above 30 degrees yet so if you want more heat than that you might want 3kw or more but then you'll need to change your wiring on the supply.

Have you put the temp up on the little screw on the element temp sensor? I've got the 2kw element (swapped from a3kw) and tend to put it on from 4-6hrs and getting 35-38 degrees at the bottom of the tank as I've got a temp gauge fitted there.

It's a lot of water mind for 2kw - 650L I measure the top of the tank as heat rises I would have thought it most likely to be the hottest place. I have the element right down the bottom of the tank as low as I could get it. I'm happy with 30 degrees as I don't trust really hot water in winter.

Oh, senior moment!! I'd forgotten you've a 650ltr :D
