Title: Mountaineering glasses

Has anyone tried those mountaineering glasses when cleaning ups to save looking up all the time? If so are they any good?

I've not used them myself but might be worth a shot as are quite cheap to buy.
They say can take time to get use to wearing belay glasses as can make you feel sick to start with.

I will order a set today and give them a try out hopefully they work ,like you say they are cheep enough ,I will post my opinion of them once I've used them for a while.

Well I've tried using them a few times this week and they do work but it will take a long time to get used to them. You can see the windows that you are cleaning fine but when you are using the pole and moving your head it can become quite disorientating  so not for me for everyday use they may suit other people better though.

Glad to hear they are working. They do take some getting used to! Disorientating at first, the brain is not sure why the direction of viewing has changed.

There is a method (https://www.climbing-high.co.uk/belay-glasses/cheap-belay-glasses/) to convert a cheap pair (<£10) of 'lazy reading glasses' into glasses that do the same thing as the pricier options. Works well, although peripheral vision with the cheaper options is relatively limited which isn't great.

Belay glasses would probably be better for large higher wfp jobs. Not for the likes of 2-3 storey small jobs where your don't get time to adjust to wearing them.

I found them disorienteering as well.  My eyes felt like they needed to Everest a lot more as well.
And I also kept getting the urge to stick a flag in the garden of a house I'd just conquered.....I mean done.
