After. The booster is so you get maximum performance from your membranes, as they work more efficient at a higher psi.  The prefilters purely expand life of the membranes and normal tap pressure is sufficient for them.

Water passing through prefilters can slow down the pressure. So if using booster at prefilter stage, your not really getting true performance from booster pump. Thats why its best after prefilter.

Hardly makes any difference. Ever watched how fast your prefilters fill up when you first open the tap?
If you boost your membranes the prefilters are still keeping up with just tap pressure.

I've tried my booster pump running at 100 psi both before and after pre-filters and the pressure gauge showed no difference.

Agreed , i have done the same and noticed no difference either

Surely it makes a difference to the pump, after the pre filters any sediment is removed?
