I've been cleaning PVC roofline etc for over 10 yrs using cream / solvent which remove all usual dirt, grime & marks, apart from paint & tar!! However, i've joined the forum to ask if anyone has come across brown coloured streaks that leave a rough feel to the surface of the fascia, almost as if an acid type liquid has burnt into the fascia over the years? I've come across this problem a few times but at a loss to explain to the customer what has caused the marks? Any suggestions / ideas as to the cause & how to remove them would be greatly appreciated. Cheers ;)

pictures might help
but sounds like bitumen stains to me
have you tried strbrite black streak remover ??

......& yeah thought about taking a pic but was chucking it down so left phone in van! >:(

Could be the adhesive left on when the protective plastic was peeled off many moons ago.Had similar 2 weeks ago, crusty stains and they had eaten the smooth surface.Advised it could not be cleaned off without further damage so needed replacement.

It's a simple case of matching customers expectations with what can be actually achieved in the price of the job. Most realise older stained plastics you can only do so much and some stubborn stains/damage to the plastic can't be removed.
Just be up front and tell them is what I do.
Mind yehaa works rather well on fithy/stained white plastics but I don't ever tell them it will look like new ;D

Now that sounds like it. I'm gonna re-visit the problem, take a photo & try removing the marks with Starbrite. I'll keep you posted. Cheers
-
Unfortunately, Starbrite made no difference :(
I've added a couple of pics to show the 'staining' / marks on fascia.
Any other suggestions welcome?
Cheers

That staining looks like calcified dirty water marks to me hence why it may feel rough to the touch. The discoloration is also more likely due to metabolic growth not just dirt.
I tend to use wfp softwash method now using the likes of benz blackwash...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqvABSlIBv4
Softwash method seems to do the trick for me on bringing plastics back to white effortlessly without having to spend hours up a ladder trying to scrub marks off with say a scotch pad using chems like cilit bang grime & shine etc etc etc.
If you haven't noticed I like doing things the easy way...YEHAA! ;D

Yeeehaaaaaaa
should sort it
dilute to 3 to 1

Wow! you actual agreed with me Smudger...mind 3-1 might be a wee bit strong all the same as I'm a responsible user now honest guv ;D
-
Yeehhhaaaaa! How do you guys apply this to the gutter/fascia/soffit without covering unintended areas as I understand it can be damaging to plant life/ pets etc?
Also if this gets in the windows and left on while your waiting for the yeehaa to do its magic does it not leave staining on the windows underneath?
Any advice appreciated :)

Thanks Smurf . I guess for fascia jobs I could just use my backpack to apply chems and then run some pure through it after to get rid of any potential damage to the backpack

Kev, I'm more like an impulse man draw buyer of Lidl & Aldi crap.
To be honest some of it is quite good too. For instants I now can't really use a screwdriver what with me shakes and all so that little power screwdriver set works a treat for me ;D
