What's the best general purpose deodoriser ?
What's the best heavy duty deodoriser (Urine, vomit etc. - I'm thinking Microclean at the moment but haven't tried it yet)?
Also looking at Hamilton International's NI-712 - anyone use it?

Hi,
We have used Alltechs odour clear, which smells like bubble gum and it seemed to do the job ok. Recently, we changed to Prochems Odour fresh, more floral kind of fragrance, and seem to be having trouble with foaming. Prochems definately smells better, but the foaming is really beginning to annoy me as you end up having to anti foam every tank.
For urine we have been using Prochems Urine neutraliser, smells of lemons but it isnt very good.
Im sure there must be better products out there :P

So Far....and have tried many, I have found as a general deodoriser Alltec's Odour Clear is Great....many customers tell me how they like the smell, and it stays in the carpet/fabrics for days after.
Most other deodorisers either don't smell great and/or foam like mad.

I also use the alltec,
the only other one iv tried so far was one of the impact chemicalls ones from woodbridge and it caused me foaming problems as well smelt better but as Grame said annoying having to keep add antifoam

I have been using Odouractant its more than a deodoriser.Used to use geruch stop from solutions but its expensive.

Odouractant now available from their online store.Every customer I have used it on comments on what a lovely smell it is plus it gets rid f dust mites.Its similar to solubac but smells much nicer.

Been using Prochem odour fresh this week, as i run out of Alltecs odour clear
This stuff foams like mad iv had to use near enough a litre of anti foam so far, smells great though every customer has commented on the smell and i dont get that with the Alltec one. I wont be using it again though

After going back and forth between the odour clear and odour fresh for the last couple weeks
i think i definatly prefer the prochem one, it smells much better its got a nice clean smell to it, only downside is the cost of the anti foam needed.
If its producing so much foam though would that not mean the carpets will re-soil quicker?

You need to decide what you are using the deodouriser for. They are designed to eradicate odours (strangely enough) If you just want something to make the carpet smell nice after cleaning then any standard fragranced deodouriser will do, or an aerosol. If however you are dealing with a specific odour problem such as urine, feceas etc then a more specialist product may be called for, one that actually works.
I think that any product which produces foam must be leaving a residue.

Trouble is i dont stay around long enough to see if any odour has been removed, i can only judge it by how it smells when i leave, i have never had a call back with either of them.
I allways use one of them in the tank and then spray a bit from a trigger spray on the way out.
If treating somthing bad, i use alltecs odour kill first.
Think i agree about the foam leaving residue though, shame really because it creates a much better impression with the customers.
