Curious to what the industry standard is for commercial gutter and window cleaning.
For a job with over 1km of guttering and 1500+ windows, using a cherry picker and WFP. What would you charge per metre and per window. The usual £3 p/m and £1 p/w or more/less.

pricing would depend on height and access but you would be well over if using a mewp if the job could be gutter vac'ed
how long in your estimation would it take with your method of clearing ?

Commercial gutters can be a totally different ballgame compared to domestics. A km of gutters a foot wide not having been cleared for a number of years could result in a skip or two of waste needing to be removed.
As smudger says, an MEWP involved will add expense but also allow the graft to be carried out quicker compared to using a ladder, which is likely not to be permitted within a RAMS.

We did a commercial gutter cleaning job earlier this year of a sizeable building using a cherry-picker in London. I'd put some pictures up as an example of what we had to contend with and possible issues but will be ridiculed as a bragger so sorry mate, can't help anymore. Shame.

its a shame you feel this way as I would like to see it as well , were going in to this now and are finding it hard to get the price right , yes we have been short on a few but there were a learning curve for us , now we quote a daily rate or 650 with one guy and a picker which is some where near what the top boys are charging

Nothing wrong with putting up pictures if asked to do so by others, especially where it could be of help.
I think the reason people take offence by your pics is because there's always a shot of your van in the background, or the picture is always taken from a distance to show the 'scale' of the job.
A few of us have been guilty of it from time to time, including me. It's a good feeling to pick up large jobs, it gives you a sense of satisfaction and being typical guys we like to find a way to gloat. 🤣
Maybe you could be a little more 'selective' with the pics you post, for example in this thread, you could pop up some up close pics of the gutters you mentioned, before and after.

Thanks for the replies, we'll be using a cherry picker for 80% of the work, all clearing done by hand.
Basically there is no industry standard from what I am hearing, it's using intuition, experience and sales skills. I'll stick my my usual method, it hasn't gone wrong so far.

Chris he's playing the wounded innocent, he knows exactly why he was accused of being arrogant and it has nothing to do
with him running a successful business or showing pictures of jobs that a lot of us wouldn't dare to tackle.
He gave as good as he got and its been put to bed, if he wants to huff about it then that's his business, I certainly wont be giving it

I take pictures with my van in so others don't steal them. That's a good enough reason for me.

I'm the same nearly all my pictures on social media and on my site will have my van or me in to stop other people using them.

I heard down the grapevine that the FBI were after some pictures of houses and were scouring window cleaning forums, maybe that's the reason? Or maybe they're just after business advice! ;D

I think it's bloody cheeky taking other people's pictures, some of us work hard for the before and after / marketing pictures whilst some others are to lazy to take their own and go on forums begging to use other people's work. Get your camera out and start taking pictures of your own before criticising others

It's one of the criteria Google use to rank your website having unique images. So it does matter.

If it was some Blue-chip company I would share the concern but Oakley Window Cleaning? ::) LMAO

I took some gutter cleaning before and after pics on Friday and during the job I thought "Should I go over the top and make these look brilliant?"
And then I thought, "Naw, I'm pretty good at using post image production software (Lightroom Photoshop), and I can make them look perfect in there.
Has anyone seen where I left my spurs?

Point taken, however it in response to this:

He's made a habit of jumping on anything I say for months. But if he's willing to let bygones be bygones and stop baiting, then so am I. :)
