Now you've had the RO for a while from Gardiners, what do you think of it? How much faster is it than a 350GPD? Is it any more wasteful on rejected water?
Alex, what size are the JG fittings on them? Would it be possible to run off a quarter inch JG feed? Is there an adaptor available?
What kind of water pressure are they suited too?

I get about 50/60 litres of pure an hour (014 - 016 ppm after 5 months on original membranes which started at 004/006) running off tap pressure of 65psi/70psi. (recorded by the in line 1/2" gauge supplied with it). I do not know the waste output but it runs appreciably faster than the pure. 2 to 1?
The feed in to the RO is 1/2" OD John Guest I think which splits into two outputs (pure and waste) of 3/8" John Guest.
On the advice of Alex I added a 10" sediment filter before the prefilter to extend the life of the prefilter.
I think 1/4" OD input would be too small and restrictive.
Alex will be along to give you less woolly answers!

Thanks Malc, I think my existing RO has a saddle clamp with quarter inch tubing feeding a small booster pump. Just trying to avoid changing too much if possible. Also have quarter inch feed to double DI's. and waste pipe.

As GG has said the feed tube on the PRF-RO is a 1/2" - feeding this from a 1/4" tube would restrict the flow rate and affect performance.
If you want an RO with adjustable waste water ratio and cheaper than a PRF-RO, then you could always keep your booster pump and pre-filter part of your current unit and just upgrade the RO part with these parts:

Think it does but I believe you would need the shut off solenoid to stop the water flow, which you can connect to this pump

If using this booster pump with an PRF-RO then when the float valve in the holding tank shuts off the auto shut-off on the PRF-RO will trigger and then the pressure sensor on the pump will shut the pump down in 10 seconds.
It will then monitor the pressure and if the valve opens in the holding tank the PRF-RO will open up again and the booster pump will start up again.
If not using with a PRF-RO then you would need a solenoid shut off (as mentioned by p1w1) in the water supply line to the RO (post Booster pump) to shut off the water supply and trigger the pressure sensor in the booster pump. Thanks Alex, is that all three eighths JG fittings though? I think everything I have is quarter inch including the pump.

These housings come with 3/8" female screw thread ports so you can fit them with whatever John Guest fittings you want.
I would suggest that you use these for the inlet and outlet:

and for the waste I would use this fitting

So that you can use 1/2" tubing to connect to the RO waste valve.
Of course if you already have a 1/4" waste valve and flow restrictor you may be able to re-use that from your 350gpd system and then stick to the 1/4" fittings for all 3 ports on the housing.

These are going to be standard off the shelf items for us moving forward as I think they represent great value for money to production power and are a lot easier to set up than 3x 100gpd membranes.
I believe that some other suppliers are stocking them.

Compare those prices to the price of a replacement 4040 membrane.

Ordered the twelve incher, will give it a go with quarter inch pipe might have to go bigger perhaps. Does it matter what restrictor is used Alex? I have a couple of different sized ones.

If you have a flow restrictor from a 300 or 350gpd unit this should work. Alternatively you can just fit a valve in the waste line and play around with a part open position.
I have checked your order - did you only want 2x of the John Guest 3/8" screw in to 1/4" push fit fittings? The housing has three 3/8" screw ports that you will need to connect to.

Oops, yes three please unless the fittings are the same on most ro systems then I could take one off an old housing.

Yes these will work with 1/4" tubing.
I will pass a message on to the fulfillment team to make that 3x 1/4" fittings :)
The ones from your old housing will probably be 1/8" screw thread so would not fit.
