Title: trolley pump stops working intermittently - why?
Post by: stuartb on September 18, 2016, 09:10:39 pm
Ive a 25ltr trolley with a Shurflow pump. Its been a good trolley but has stopped pumping. When you turn the controller on all looks good but no sound from the pump and no water comes out. But. When you tip the trolley steeply on its side the pump starts and water starts to come out. You have to do this several times sometimes to make it work. When you tip the trolley back towards upright it stops? So. Whats wrong with my trolley?
Any help appreciated as its sending me mental.

Air lock? If you empty a barrel and get air in this is what can happen. Mind you, you'd hear the pump.

I'd go the SB and JK on this one to start with. If it's a PF trolley my original one came with blue bullet connectors. Alright at first but after a while they became a right pain. Removed them all and replaced them with some decent connectors I had left over from my RC Car days. Deans I think they called them. Never been a problem since. You need some soldering skills to fit them though.

Bad/corroded connections.
Burnt out wire due to bad connection.
Fuse corroded.
