I am moving to a new lock up and purchased a 40-40 ro unit. Having just checked the water pressure and flow, i am getting about 25psi in pressure (so will get a booster pump for that) but mains water flow is about 15lpm will this still be ok to use the 40-40 or is that going to be a problem.
I'm looking at probably getting this booster pump http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/pure-water-systems/water-treatment/booster-pumps/switched-booster-pump-kit-240v-for-prf-ro-systems.html but it doesn't state what the flow rate should be only that it needs a certain flow rate to use.
Does anyone use this particular booster pump and know what flow rate is needed or anyone run there 40-40 at less then 21 lpm that i believe is recommended for a 40-40.
any help would be great thanks.

I don't know the exact figures at 80/85psi, but a 50 psi I get 2 lpm pure and 2lpm waste without booster.
I would email Alex and ask him. It would be interesting to know and also what membrane he would recommend. HF5 would be within spec but an HF4 is cheaper and maybe alright at those pressures.

Should add i have got the HF5 membrane as it gives me a bit of flexibility for a couple of jobs i do were i can produce water on site without using a booster pump, but as it will mainly be for a static system i would prefer to try and get the optimum pressure needed for best results.

13lpm at 50 psi. Flushing the toilet slows water flow to the r/o down. Toilet is downstairs and first in line on the same pipe.

15lpm should be enough for water production with a 4040 and a booster pump - it is less than ideal but should still work well enough.
25psi will definitely need a booster pump to help out with. The one you have linked to should get it up to 75/80 psi with that input pressure.
An HF5 with that pressure should produce good quality water for you.

I presume you must have provision to switch the water off automatically when your IBC tank is full.
I use a solenoid valve and float switch. If I was concerned about water supply issues I would put my system on a timer so it processed water over night when no one else was using it. It might mean having to have 2 x IBC tanks linked together if you use a lot of water.

Yeah I have the solenoid valve, that's why I was looking at the particular booster pump as you can use it with the solenoid to turn the pump off too with it

About 10lpm would be the minimum it needs to work properly.
