Anyone got any idea what this is? and worse why it would not be attached to anything?  :o  :o

It was tucked away to the left as you look in the engine.. I'm hoping it's something to do with AC & is not needed.

Don't suppose it drains the grill where the wipers are?

Surely if there's a cable tie on the end it should be attached to something?  :-\

Start your van up. Turn on Heaters. Looks like it's the intake for that ?

I think you are on the money there Dave.

I don't guarantee this but I would try behind the small grill above the brake fluid reservoir in the photo and just under the right hand wiper arm and see if it fits there.

It diverts the water from the screen away from the bulkhead.  On the RHD van the brake master cylinder is attached to the bulkhead and it will prevent water getting into that and starting rust issues.

The other problem is that water can leak into the interior of the van through the master cylinder housing and get behind the matting. If memory serves me the matting has a sound deadening material attached to it which will absorb water. As it won't dry out it could start to cause corrosion problems.

If Citroen could have got away with not having to fit that hose, they would have.

;D I very much doubt it started off with a cable tie. PSA love to use those clips that you need a special tool for to pull both ends together and they clip into each other. It probably similar to a cv boot clamp but with one 'setting.'
