Title: Using the customers water?
Post by: purpleroad on September 15, 2016, 12:18:22 pm

I have found it difficult to always fill up at home with water.    Is it possible to get your 50/25 litres of water from the customers hose and run it through filters in your van?     Obviously only using the water you need for the job so in my case 25 or 50 litres.

I'd say the first person to ask is your customers! as iv found that a lot of them are on a meter

Lots of them ask me if I need to use their water so I guess it's ok if just 25-50 litres.   How would you connect it all up to the van - just connect their hose to your twin DIs then back out to pole?

IMO it looks unprofessional and its time consuming.2 things you dont want when running a window cleaning business.

i do use customers outside taps occasionally though (with 20m of extension hose) for a conny roof job for example with their permission of course but i wouldnt filter the water to my van tank for regular window cleaning jobs.

I have no problem using customers outside tap on exterior property cleaning. Best practice it's only polite to always ask in advance first. I've never had anyone say no yet.

Maybe see if you have an old granny on your round.  Store some gardening equipment for a mate. Then start producing water ?
