Hi Guys,
This morning whilst starting a job I switch on one of the vacs and bang it trips everything out. I was using the plug in a new part of the building so thought it may have just been the socket but after trying two others it just did the same.
Luckily I managed to get the job done running from the one vac.
When I got home I tried the vac again and it did actually run for a few seconds but then cut off taking the power with it so I guess it's packed up.
I have a Ninja 400psi can you knowledgeable lot please advise what will be the best replacement please?
Regards,
Rich :)

replacements are readily available on Ebay :)
-
Don't go with ebay - some of the cheap ones will just turn off after about 5 mins as they can't stand the heat and the thermostat turns them off
Worldwide Cleaning Support are the best for vac motors by a mile - genuine USA Lamb 3 stage motors for £80, click below -
https://www.worldwidecleaningsupport.com/lamb-electric-240v-ac-3-stage-1400w-tangential-117123-29 (says 1400watt in that link but they are 1500watt as in the advert when you click)
They have others too but why bother when you can get the rock solid Lambs for that?
-
Yes, had this one , lasts for years.
I have Ninja 400's also.
Fairly easy to fit.
-
Thanks chaps will take a look ;D
-
you can buy the same motors on eBay inc vat and delivery for about £50
-
show us the link then Stuart

I have managed to get one thanks for the suggestions however I have noticed the following,
The one I have ordered stats that it is 1400w where as others I looked at were 1200w will this make any odds?
I have ordered the standard Lamb Ametek motor part number 166859-13

Thats an Ametek motor - probably European.
It is not the same as the Lamb's in the link to Worldwide Cleaning Support. The proper, reliable Lamb's are from the USA - the cables give it away - they are only coloured black and white, no red cable.
You will probably find the one you have just bought has the thermostat cut off - will probably run for about 5 minutes and then turn itself off until it cools down again. They aren't up to the job in extraction machines.

Looks to me like the wrong one. There is a short tube on the end where the seal goes which will not be on the one you have. So it may interfere when fitted perhaps.
-
WCS will supply with or without the flange from what i remember as well
-
heres a compromise ... its a ' lamb ' but its from ebay :)
is it cheaper than wcsuk ? depends on if woc has free shipping ? not much in it anyway ...
all made in the low wage factory in mexico , nothing is usa sourced , thats why they sell for half nothing now , imagine the production cost ...must be a few dollars at most

You lot make me smile---
You moan about cheapjacks advertising £18 per room and £50 a suite yet scrounge around for the cheapest vac unit/ pump you can find.
Buy cheap buy twice comes to mind.
Head down below the parapet.....

John, thats an old link, good try but its from August 2015 - if you look at that seller they now want £99 for them now -
http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Lamb-Ametek-3-Stage-Tangential-Motor-240V-AC-1500W-117123-29-/252529289045?hash=item3acbeb2755:g:GcEAAOSwKtVWzDw7
Still a good price with VAT and delivery probably the same as WCS and the same good motor.
A completely different spec to the Ametek Coyote has bought and will last and work where that one he has bought won't
I still challenge someone to prove you can buy those proper spec Lamb's on eBay for £50 all in - heard it spouted so many times but never any evidence of it!
-
And Kinver, i agree with you.
I don't agree with paying £140 plus VAT from some suppliers for the same motor - if its the same and cheaper then great. But no sense in buying cheap cos its cheap and not the same!

missed that , but just spotted the seller information down the page ... its woodbridge also ! i guess wcs wins so .
also numbers should end with either 29 or 13 for wet use .
-
lol, didn't spot it was WCS!
Yea - 29 or 13 ending for the airseal
Just noticed the banner at the top of this forum has the WCS advert showing the Lamb motors as £69 plus VAT! They use to be but not now on their site - that needs changing or phone them quick and get them to honour one at that!

Hi Guys,
So the motor I have bought is not suitable then ???
I did try and call worldwide cleaning however the number on the website didn't ring and they was no voicemail???
When I opened my machine up I noticed that the two motors had different numbers,
Vacuum 1 166859-13 (that has stopped working)
Vacuum 2 117123-13
I thought this was strange so called Ashby's and was told by Mike that this is correct as vacuum 2 is heavy duty and if they were both the same they would draw to much power?
I agree with the comments about buying cheap however the seller I bought from had two listings of the same motor with two prices. One was £89.99 and the other was £58.49 so I called the seller and was told the item is the same however the cheaper listing price was wrong and they would need to change it but honored the price I saw it at £58.49
Here is a link to the other vacuum is it the same or is it the actual one I need!?

I am confused ???
-
I would be confused too. The one in the picture has a tube on the end. Also the description says ''fan bracket'' which I think may be the tube. As far as I'm aware the ninja motors don't have a tube on the end. But as you say the part number is correct.
